It's either you love it or hate it novel, I suppose.

I'm on the love it side, the ML isn't off-putting to me with his conduct but rather brings out more of a strong individual personality with his quirks. So does the MC.

The family drama is super dramatic but generally angst free. The slow burn for me makes more sense as people don't fall in love that quickly especially when it involves two people who are not aware of their s*xual orientation and topped off that they rarely saw each other,... more>> it all sorts itself out that way.

One critical thing I'd like to point out or rather, vent about is that unlike straight CEO couples, this couple do things for each other constantly. Either small or big but they always have each other on their minds and it's not always a FL being showered with wealth. Obviously this couple becomes wealthy as well but it's not overly done and flaunted around as much as in those shoujo/jouseis.

It definitely feels sincere and cute and it was never tiresome to see more PDA of the two.

I love how author kept involving the alternative reality and tying it together with their current life, as well as give a HE for the alternative world's couple.

it might irk you how often the translator swapped the ML and MC's names around by accident. It was really confusing at the beginning. So don't worry, it's not you, it's a consistent mistake that the translator is making. <<less

Dog-blood drama and a cute couple. The synopsis is quite misleading because ML never knew anything about the past, only the MC was rebirthed. The relationship is very sweet (no black-belly etc) and it was cute how they grew to like each other. The family drama was quite... dramatic but still ok for me. It was also nice to see that not everything was smooth-sailing for MC and how he too had to learn new things about his profession even though he was already an expert in his previous life.

Not... more>> sure if it's the translation or the original, but the english phrasing etc was quite awkward in the second half, and names occasionally got mixed up. Otherwise, a decent casual read. <<less

Definitely a good read and reread.

Here MC questions his rebirth as he was living a good life. He uses his rebirth in a good way as in trying to improve himself and explores himself in other fields of photography.

Their relationship progresses slowly and steadily in a step wise manner.

The MC is likeable and not a delicate flower or clumsy idiot but the ML is a petty easily offended privigiled as*hole that stalks and bullies the MC for his own amusement, his only good point is that he is not a iceberg. I keep getting angry almost every time they interact so this novel its not for me, but it may be for you. The ML is an as*hole in more "real life" way than in the cn novels, at least so far there is not kidnapping or s*xual... more>> harrasment, he does petty sh*t like stealing the mc´s student id (which to be fair he did took since he suspected of him being a plant by his shitty stepfamily but then he did not return for petty reasons), milk tea straight out his hand (a food stealer its not to be borne!), scamming lunch with with a fake uwu its my birthday and I am alone (when in fact it was the MC birthday), a very expensive camara that the MC cant afford to replace that its the propiety of a professor that he can afford even less to offend all because it brings him joy to see/picture the MC aggrieved face, ughhhhhhhh, pigtail pulling its not cute even when its kids doing it and it just triggers my rage button when a adult does it. Some may say but he returned the camara in nice giftwrap and with a expensive cake, I say well what about the hours of distress/rage the MC suffered? Emotional damage counts!!! They where barely acquaintance at that point, the MC had no guarantee that the as*hole did not had bad intentions, this sh*t its only funny if its close friends doing it. <<less

I loved this story - it was paced perfectly and I felt we really got to see the relationship slowly develop from the first accidental photo. I thought both characters were really well thought out and had realistic personalities.

I like how strong both the characters were, and the minor drama towards the end. The time travel never gets fully explained, which I thought was a bit unfortunate (I love reading how the author justifies these fantastical elements), but I loved the nice closure in the end when He Bai travels... more>> back to the original time line.

Ultimately, this story is a fun, relaxing way to spend a day or two. <<less

Pretty good.

In my opinion, one useless rebirth was good but not bad either, it was in between the likes and dislikes from my point of perspective and I know for the fact that me putting a review is quite useless.

Value and opportunity. For me, I think this novel talks about not just the love between two characters but also that how they learn to value the people that's around them and appreciate the opportunities they are given.

If you read the story carefully, you will see that the MC at the start was pretty detached to people around him just by how he only photographs scenery but doesn't try to photograph people.

Another example of how detached he can be is this small little detail:

he mentions in the novel about the time his friend became a father and cried outside the room, he laughed and pointed out how he brought his camera but didn't photographed that moment, and he doesn't realize that up until he gets another chance at life and starts to value the people that are in his life

It's a really small detail that can be missed but I'm not saying that this novel is pretty deep, its really light hearted and the drama can't be considered as angsty.

his professor also pointed out that the reason why he always got a failing mark was because his photographs didn't have any soul. He is that detached

When he is now being given the opportunity to start all over again he didn't appreciate it due to the fact he was already satisfied with what he experienced and doesnt want to go through all of it all over again, but yeah you didnt save your file there bro and now you have to play through college life all over again. Ahem anyways...

The ML is also the same, onnthe outside he looks like an approchable person but on the inside he doesn't really care about the people around and only wants to control and manipulate them and even has trust issues sometimes. The only exception was his friend who saw right him. And the mc

some of you might point that MC got manipulated but no he didn't he just let it slide because he doesn't really see as a problem for him. Even though MC is detached he has a pretty strong mentality. Its in the novel that he doesnt get manipulated when ML starts acting how pitiful he is now he doesnt have a home and stuff, then MC slaps him while pretending to say oh theres a bug sorry not sorry. If he really gets manipulated I would be uncomfortable and won't be reading this story and won't even write a review about it.

In the end, Mc's rebirth gave them an opportunity to start again and learn to value the people around them.

Summary:

30 year old MC traveld back in time to when he was 17. After his 'rebirth' he just wanted to know, : Why? He won the lottery! Traveled the world! He had no regrets (or need for revenge) ! WHY WAS HE REBORN???

The clue lays here: Befor his death he made an accidental picture of the mu*der of a famous actor.

Later in the story he finally understood why he was reborn.... he was reborn to save his hubby!

The story is Pg13/shounen ai: (but it's okay, there is enough dog food to cover that!)

[Excerpt from the story:

MC: Let go of me, I just climbed out of bed, I don't want to climb back to bed now."

Di Qiuhe smiled and said nothing, he shut the door and...... you know ;) ]

The after story is really dusty, you can't help get tears in your eyes. ;-;

MC had an accident and crossed over to the first world, he managed to save Quie, but he (He Bai) wants to go back to his Childish Di. The Quie in this world fell in love with Bai and was then left behind.

This novel has all the markers of a good rebirth story: good plot, 2 charismatic MCs, well-developped side characters, pretty good depiction of the photography world and asian entertainment industry in general, plenty of villain-slapping and plenty of humour.

Except that I did not enjoy it as much as other rebirth stories I read... because I did not like the MC He Bai's fake tsundere attitude and childish personality. I found MC more annoyingly childish than ML. ML just acts cute and childish whereas MC is profoundly childish in character. I... more>> lost count how many times he blocked ML online, or threw tantrums, and even ran away from home once and disappeared for days which, imo, was disproportionate retaliation towards what ML had done. And his decision to follow his senior to a war-torn country was so casual and dismissive, it was a glorious 'wtf!' moment... poor ML! The novel does lack some real fluffy moments... during the moments when you could expect some real fluff (honeymoon, celebrations, smut time etc...) the author just glossed over, as if the fluff was not important to write about. <<less

One moment when I prefer het couple to homo couple when actually I'm a heavy fujoshi.

One character is having rebirth physically and mentally. One character suddenly becomes the typical top male character after rebirth (because at the very beginning he died). For one purpose: meng, affection, love combined into one.

In my honest opinion, if that's easy to have rebirth, I'll have done it. People already said the overbearing temper that ML had. Typically handsome, smart, black belly ML. Yet he still died because apparently he didn't have good relationship with... more>> his relatives, also was betrayed. I just skimmed read few early chapters and do not know the reason & how he ended up death on other's hand, nor the rebirth itself (well, I don't know who gave up their live for chance of rebirth for MC somehow). People with discreening eyes can see who have ill intention them and who have good heart. If the ML had it, does it mean his temper and personality just unbearable enough to make (some) people turned against him?

《Probably just my feeling, but I feel discomfort at how ML is interacting with MC.》 Fortunately MC also mentally was fated to undergo rebirth, otherwise I don't think he will let himself was led by the nose. Of course, as long as there's meng was inserted and both were giving and take affection from other party, all were well. It just not my cup of tea. And since I think the high rating is kind of misleading, I gave 1 star when actually 2 or 3 stars is the actual rate I want to give. I had high expectation (my top three of rebirth story is Rebirth of The Malicious Empress of Military Lineage, Hwasanjeonsaeng, and Rebirth of a Movie Star) but ended up hating iron for not becoming steel. Then again, I'm not trying to be spiteful, everyone has different opinion and it's just my honest opinion. <<less

i've read this quite a long time ago, and I forgot to give it a review, so here I am. It's probably one of the few novels that makes me can bear the sadness of reading an MTL novel LOL. Its already translated a lot, so I just need to read a dozens of chapters to finish it. It's really one of a good modern type BL novels. I really like the MC and the ML. Their personality really matched up, and their relationship is not one sided, means the... more>> ML is not an overbearing cold CEO you usually got in modern BL novels LOL. The story really lived up to the title, the MC really doesnt have any grievances in life at all actually but he ended up dead and experiencing rebirth. Overall, the story is fun to read, maybe because I like the theme about getting revenge and slapping others, so I feel satisfied with the plot when ML getting revenge to those who wronged him LOL.

P.S I think the MC rebirth is not useless at all, because he's finally living even more better and got himself a cute and handsome husband LOL. And I also think that the reason the ML died at his previous life is not because he got trapped by his scheming family. Because you know, after the MC interact with the ML, he's really far from innocent and flower boy celebrity he portrayed on the outside, and actually he's also a scheming bastard who likes to see others dance in his palm according to his plan. So, the reason he died at his previous life is most likely because he doesnt has any lingering feeling left in the world, he doesnt have a reason to live so he let those people killed him. <<less

This novel is a refreshing wind among rebirth novels. When I read the title, I feel confused about why the rebirth is useless. Now, I know that He Bai is the lucky star of Di Qiuhe. Comparing with He Bai, Di Qiuhe is more like the main character in the rebirth novels, suffering the bitterness from family. The plot is logic and the word building is also decent. Great story I tell you. This is very romantic and nice. The characters are just pure gold. Their interactions are logical and natural. I have to say that the plot is charming and fun. It’s really precious. I’m looking forward to see what happens next. From the few chapters we have so far, it seems like it will be a fun ride.

Finished reading the whole thing last night using MTL and it was really good! The ending was satisfying and the extras were great! The pace of the entire story was really good and the ML, MC and side characters were really lovable. It's a nice twist on a old trope and overall very enjoyable. I recommend this to anyone who is in the mood for something sweet and adorable!

Loving the pace, plot, and characters so far - I like how the ML obviously already has his forceful personality, but doesn't quite yet have all the power to back it up, so he's definitely going to have to grow into it to be able to keep his little "pup" happy!

There's little plot points that just aren't addressed, but I loved the fluff in it. Some of the plot points that happen just for convenience are just plain dumb, but that's part of the fun! Also the ending is good for what you're getting. If you're looking for in depth plot, this isn't it, but if you're looking for a comedy that you don't want to think too hard about, then this is a great read!

You may skip it thinking it ain't gonna be good welllll YOU'RE ABSOLUTELY WRONG!

This is a sweet story that starts with a rebirth that didn't come from regret or a desire to change the past, it was totally unnecessary xDDD, MC didn't need change anything or wanted to change anything from his past but this opportunity brought him something special: our cute and idiotic ML jajajajja.

Truthfully, just read the whole thing for the plot cause it was nice to pass the time but HONEST TO GOD there were several times I just almost dropped it. Reasons were pretty much explained by those who shares the same thoughts as mine.

Especially the MC there was nothing about that guy I liked maybe except his hardworking demeanour. And Oh yes, the translation as well it was also served as a great nerve grating system.

And while reviewing I'm not gonna state my other opinions on supporting characters and the... more>> ML cause they didn't leave much impact on my emotions or simply I could care less about them as they were written about.

"But definitely gonna say it that this type of bl is something I detest the most as a true yaoi reader". Blocking/hanging up on each other any chance they got!!! No proper communication it's either yelling or sneering or softly smiling or being coquettish!!!!! Where's the character growth!!!! Even their internal monologues doesn't contain any fluffy-ness I was looking for.

However I also find out that I don't mind weird things like god knows how meeting once ML hung upon MC and MC magically changing photography fields from one to another overnight and being UMAI at that especially since cultivating in nature based for more than one decades as stated by the author. <<less

I really like the story, but the translation is killing me. The novel seems really jumpy and short, because if it. I read one chapter and go to the next, and I feel like I'm missing a part. I'm gonna drop this for now and come back when I have more patience.
