The Earth is Online

Six months ago, tens of thousands of black phantom towers appeared all over the world, floating above the cities. Chemists, physicists, religious people… all of them could do nothing.

Six months later, people became used to the towers and no longer paid them attention.

One day, Tang Mo saw a flying insect crash into it instead of going through it. The next day, a sharp and clear child-like voice issued an announcement to all humans.

“Ding dong! November 15th, 2017. The earth is online.”

The black tower’s three iron-clad rules:

1. Everything is explained by the black tower.

2. 6 o’clock to 18 o’clock is the game time.

3. All players, please strive to attack the tower.

The story is for my taste to monotone and basically just a repetition of MC clearing games. There were a lot of situations where MC could have died, but they got very fast uninteresting because it was obvious that MC would not die, as it is in many stories. There lies of course no fault with author creating such scenarios to make the story more interesting, it is just not that intriguing anymore if one understood this and it happens the nth time. MC is not going to die because... more>> he is MC so it does not matter how hard the game is.

Nevertheless, I think the novel is well written and the games are also well though out.

The translation on the site I read was very poor and I just can't understand how nobody saw those errors, maybe no proofreading was done? (F.e. Using wrong character names or completely strange words "time" instead of "table")

Spoiler

In the first game the author could have at least ask someone to check if the probability is correct. If I understood properly how the game works the probability of burning the right bookshelf is not 3/24 but 1/24+1/23+1/22 because after each round there is one bookshelf less to choose from.

I’ll admit, I don’t recall at what point I dropped the novel but for those who find themselves not particularly enjoying this because you are not thirsty over the BL element, allow me to give you as detailed a review as I can.

The Earth is Online like all dystopian novels, has a premise that makes very little sense and not something I would fault any dystopian novel on because the author simply needs to find a way to get us into the world that she wants us to focus on.... more>> Nonetheless, our main character is thrust into a scenario that requires him to play different “intelligent” games in order to survive.

The main character is breaming with intelligence than I’ve ever seen in any librarian and the various games initially seem fresh and new but you aren’t dumb, many of the games are genuinely convoluted and have a rather forced logic that ensures that the MC leaves every scenario unscathed. Essentially, the games are often based on the authors reasoning more so than any actual logic. I am not the smartest person, but I am often amazed at how the MC can narrow very arbitrary possibilities into just two options when I can think of many more. My guess here is the author did what I would do when trying to create a riddle or a game based on clues. You start from the solution and then work backwards. However, I often find myself in situations where there isn’t one solution. I won’t criticize much there because I really genuinely want to try and simulate these games before I knock the reasoning.

However, the suspense is heavily dulled down by the MC having questionable super intelligence and you knowing that the author will inevitably ensure that the MC uses the logic that gives the solution to the game. The MC will of course gain greater abilities as we go along. Although, some abilities seem to have no actual clear logic to how they work.

Nonetheless, this isn’t a dud for me because the author genuinely creates an interesting world with somewhat engaging characters. Of course, you will occasionally wonder why no one in this world showers or brushes their teeth but for the most part, the games are engaging and the characters are not terrible.

I do wish the author would break up the monotony of the characters constantly jumping into worlds by actually setting the scene with the mundane. There’s rarely moments of people just being people. Also, there are some questionable assumptions about how gay people should behave which you just let slide but sometimes, just silly stereotypes wade their way in the novel really throwing me off.

If you aren’t nit picky, you’ll enjoy this. <<less

This story is so boring and is mostly uninteresting, it seems like most of the people are giving it a high rating simply because of the gay elements in the story. But the story itself is filled with uninteresting characters, especially the main character.

The translation is full of errors and isnt the best

Well so far I have only read like ten chapters, but I must admit I'm very grateful to the translator for picking this novel up.

and no, not because it's a bl tag. In the first ten chapters there is no bl in it whatsoever.

no, this novel reminds me of One Outs and that card game manga that same author wrote. Although I didn't like that card one as much as I enjoyed One Outs.

... more>> (Edit) I read a bit further and it reminds me of god of crime as well.

so, based on the 10 chapters of earth online I would recommend it if you liked One Outs or those types of stories <<less

Probably unmatched in the unlimited flow genre when it comes to their games/scenarios. The games are interesting and well-designed — I was especially impressed by Mario's boardgame, their first assembly instance, and the Turkey lining up game. Though the characters' hypotheses and reasoning can be a bit circular for some, but most of the time, you can make it make sense when you remember the games are always designed to be fair.

I know lots of reviews find the MC and ML overpowered, but I don't think so. Though we know... more>> they definitely ain't dying in the story, there were some really close moments where they were in genuine danger. Plus, in the name of fairness, the games stack the odds against you when you're OP and give benefits when you're weaker. Their relationship also progressed really naturally in a post-apocalyptic world. I especially enjoyed how they tried to ditch each other to the wolves at the beginning. That was hilarious and very believable when where it's every man for themselves.

Something I do dislike: the writing (especially the Black Tower monsters and their constant yapping, dear god) tends to ramble on and on. It's clearly an attempt to juxtapose the bleak and deadly games with childlike intrigue, but I think it was grossly overdone. I can forgive that, though it was an absolute chore to read. Also, the story made a big deal about "Eve" which... kind of went unexplained at the very end. Either I'd missed something, or it was a weak shot at creating mystique in the setting.

Something I REALLY hate: I don't actually mind nationalism in danmei. It's the same as NY city always getting destroyed in Hollywood movies and their heroes saving the world. Even then, I do think the author did India dirty. It's not shocking for China to have tons of brilliant people when they have such a huge population, but India's population surpasses China. Having no Indian players pass the fifth floor is, in my opinion, totally inexcusable. I'm saying this as a bona fide Chinese, by the way. <<less

Absolutely phenomenal. I'm a bit moody person so it's not like I always crave romance in novels. I was just happy reading some queerbaiting novels in past so I can read this without a worry. And btw this is a short review and my first review ever.

First of all, I love how the author dropped this masterpiece which contained my fav concepts like mind games, puzzles, action packed scenes, etc. Even if there's no romance, I like the interactions between the MC and ML. I LOVE the MC (Tang Mo),... more>> he's a genius. And the ML is soo cool (Fu Wenduo), he's so protective and is chill. And yeah of course, both remind me of kim dokja and yoo junghyuk from orv. So give it a try, you'll probably like it! <<less

(Clicked wrong, but I meant 4 stars not 5)

Very interesting novel! The games are wonderful and keep on the edge of your seat (I couldn't really decipher most of them, but I'm not that great with puzzles).

I, however, had a bit of difficult reading because the pace is very slow (regarding the MC and ML relationship at least), so at times it felt like I'd be reading them playing the towers games forever. Additionally, I loved the ML, he's interesting and has some quirks that made him very... more>> cool, but the MC for me couldn't cut it. Maybe because of his personality I couldn't really engage or have a lot of empathy for him?

Also, when I started reading I had high expectations, and even though it is an amazing and complex story, I couldn't help but feel the ending was a little anticlimactic (for me!).

Nice read overall though. <<less

I see a lot of people saying its a great book but it was honestly so UNDERWHELMING. The concept was so good but the execution was not it and added with the 270+ chapters ? lts a no for me... Some problems I had with the book :

1. In my opinion the characters all just had no substance and were all so 2D e.g The MC and ML are all described as constantly being emotionless and cold which was fine at the start but as the story went on it... more>> was just annoying how they would never show their emotion and you could never tell what they were feeling, even though they were going out and being absolutely traumatized and

[collapse]

2. The games actually made no sense at all - I mean they probably did but it was just so hard to understand and conceptualize that towards the end I just didn't bother even trying to understand the games which really takes you away from the story.

3. The romance..... okay I get it, its a slow burn book but them not even
Spoiler

kissing until around Chapter 217???

[collapse]
firstly its kinda cringe secondly they met online in a game and LITERALLY NEVER SAW OR TALKED TO EACH OTHER??? like how did u even fall in love in the first place 😭

4. THE SHEER AMOUNT OF CHAPTERS - the book definitely could have been cut in half. Towards the middle of it was just the MC constantly being dragged into games that I barely understood and I was just wondering where the plot was leading since there didn't actually seem like there was any bc it was just games, games, games

5. The ending was underwhelming after 270 chapters of build up but thinking about it, it was probably the best ending we could have gotten.

6. Probably a lot more other minute things... I don't actually hate the book it was just so underwhelming to read and I was STRUGGLING to finish it after I got past Chapter 180 but I pushed through it and finished yay?!! <<less

I really loved this novel, but I made a mistake and read it during Christmas. Every time I heard jingle bells or saw Santa, it gave me weird feelings. But jokes aside, this novel is wonderful. It took me a lot of time to write a review because this novel affected me greatly.

There were several things that I especially loved. First of all, the plot is amazing. I love every arc. The characters are interesting, especially the villains. The story has a perfect pace. And the ending was brilliant. I... more>> loved that the novel had a deep meaning. Everything that happened on earth and the reasons behind it—absolutely everything—were explained brilliantly; actually, the author gave us clues about what was going on, even in the very first game.

Secondly, it is a little bit sad that in this novel a lot of bad things happen and many people die, but the most scary thing is that in my eyes, the real monsters are humans, not the tower. If they acted differently and were kinder, many people could be saved. If something like this occurs in reality, people will probably act in the same way. This book really exposed human nature's ugly side, but at the same time, it also showed humanity's good qualities. It was truly realistic.

Also, the characters were amazing. I liked that they were complex; you may think that you understand them, but then they do something that will surprise you (I'm mostly talking about certain psychopath). Some side characters surprised me; with some, I fell in love; there were also ones I couldn't wait to see die.

I love MC and ML. MC: Mo Tang is a little bit cold, really smart, rational, and doesn't have even one romantic cell in his body. He was so calm that it seemed a bit unnatural, and I thought that at some point he would have a breakdown because he went through a lot. I only belatedly understood that he was really strong but also relied on ML. Don't get me wrong, they are both strong and don't need any help, but when you have someone next to you who understands you without a word and believes in you, it just gives you a lot of strength. Despite dark times and difficulties, he didn't lose his humanity; other people in his shoes would act terribly. He has surprised me many times. I loved ML too, especially his playful side, which was unexpected considering his status and profession. He was under a lot of pressure; he was more informed and had responsibilities. Other people in his shoes might have given up, but he decided to fight. I think he was the most selfless and kind person in the whole book.

About romance. In a novel, there aren't many romantic scenes; mainly, it focuses on the main plot, but the whole relationship—every interaction of characters is like a declaration of love itself. How they can understand each other without words, how much they trust each other—this is exactly what makes their relationship so beautiful and romantic in its own way. There simply isn't any need for words, romantic gestures, or actions. It was also funny that MC and ML sometimes acted like children.

This is a survival-game-themed book with really good plot twists and deep meaning. The author is talented, and the writing is amazing. Despite its size, I read it really quickly; I couldn't put it down. The whole novel made me so emotional, especially the last chapters. So naturally, I recommend it to other readers. <<less

I made an NU account just to review this

This is one of my favourite stories and I highly recommend it to people who 1) enjoy a good logic puzzle 2) loves the horror/unlimited flow genre or 3) doesn't mind a caaasual existential crisis.

a quick synopsis of the plot, no spoilers, essentially mc's world is 'uploaded' into a black tower game and all of humanity is forced to play (hence the title "the earth is online"). The games are challenging, dangerous, and highly entertaining.

The MC + ML have great chemistry and... more>> are extremely in sync in the games. It's a slow-burn, but I think its important to note that the plot isn't very focused on their romance. On the upside this means a lot of well-developed side characters and great plot, but on the downside, if you're here for something swoon-worthy, this might not be for you.

Personally, I love how the plot doesn't revolve around their romance – rather, their romance comes naturally because of their experiences in the games. This is one of the few BL novels I've read where the romance isn't 'in your face', and the author creates enough space for the side characters to grow. Almost all of the side characters were memorable, from the people who remain part of the MC's team to some of the 'cannon fodder' characters that died early. Their personalities were very well-developed, and even in just a few scenes I think I understood them to some level. None of the characters exist solely to push the plot forwards and the entire story is very well crafted.

The translation on NU doesn't do the author justice; if you understand mandarin, I'd recommend reading the original Chinese version, but if not try looking for a more accurate translation. <<less

I understand your 'highly unnecessary and caused by overthinking after reading angry reviews' worries. Calm down and lemme be your guide. This novel is awesome and the efforts the author put into researching different kind of games or themes for the challenges are great. Although the ending is somewhat not so memorable for me and seems a bit rushed, but it's not something that will destroy the whole plot and the whole world. What do you worry about? Is it...

Spoiler
  1. Forced or no emotion or lack of process in romance? Ohoho, if you're looking for a cute lovey dovey tiny smoll di teens loving each other, of course you shouldn't be here in the first place. I mean, take a look at the tags? This is basically an apocalypse setting. They can't exactly take a walk eating ice cream inside a dungeon, can they? Oh wait, they do have a date. 'A learn how to shoot with a gun' date. On the more serious note, they have the kind of adult love in the real world. Those kind of relationship where you just understand that you're attracted to each other and let's save our life first and maybe do something when we have the time. This makes sense.
  2. The logic and problem solving is not complicated enough for me? Alright, Einstein. Glad you're not my professor. For me, who can't be called s*upid, but definitely not a genius, I can follow the story and be satisfied with it. Meaning it's not so basic that you can guess right away, but not very very complicated that you can get a job at NASA after you solve it. Even if the level of thinking/puzzle doesn't satisfy me enough, it definitely won't make me forget that there are other aspects of the story (action, world building, powers, the deep view of humanity) worth paying attention too.
  3. The MC seems cold-blooded and emotionless, isn't it scawyy? First of all, let's take a look at the MC's character settings in the beginning. He doesn't socialize much, he loves book more and rather socializes on the games than with his coworker, he only have 2 bestfriends that he loves dearly. This kind of person, accompanied by brain who heavily relies on logic rather than emotional factors, what do you think he will do when he is faced with life and death and meet various strangers? Hugs them and protects them to death? Anyway, I love this MC. He definitely doesn't make me annoyed because he does something s*upid. He's realistic.
[collapse]

Anyway, if you're looking for action, supernatural, sometimes scary and mu*ders filled story, here is your cupcake. Don't think too much, story with ratings of 4.7 can't be that bad. Or would you rather read the 1 star story?

Novelupdates will not me change my rating but I think 2/5 is too harsh, it's more around a 3-3.5 because I genuinely loved the first hundred chapters or so.

Saw this as a recommendation on Omniscient Reader and picked it up expecting the same kind of worldbuilding. Don't regret it ig but this could have been so much more

First floor is 9/10

... more>> 2nd-5th floor is 7/10

6th & 7th floor are just like wth happened

It had potential but the writer either got lost motivation to write or ran out of time. An extra hundred chapters of exposition and story development would probably fix it lol.

If you don't get invested in worldbuilding like I do but want a story to work your brain a little, it's pretty good. If you're the type to think about the lore then don't read it lol because there isn't any.

The BL part of it is pretty small and honestly you could edit out the scenes where they kiss and it probably wouldn't affect the rest of the story at all.

Ok here's my rant because I'm actually really sad about the last 60ish chapters lol

Characters: 6/10

I mean they're good enough. Not good enough to carry the rest of the story but the main cast is likeable. They're sometimes one dimensional and don't have clear motives (the h*ll does Bai Ruoyao wanna do, I still don't know). Also, for the vast majority of characters, we don't see their conclusion. Like all the foreign players just evaporated or sth?

Plot: 4/10

The premise is pretty simple and the novel doesn't do much beyond it. The story is extremely linear, almost going reverse in intensity as it goes on which is quite unusual and because of this it feels like the games aren't getting harder. It's really a shame because I thought the first floor was really well written and I wanted to see more big brain plays but the rest of the tower levels (7th especially) felt rather underwhelming. There isn't really a sense of danger and the difficulty levels aren't consistent, some of my favorite (which are also the hardest puzzles imo) are random instances found in the first hundred chapters. It feels like the writer ran out of ideas for tower levels and starting writing things without really thinking through them.

The writing also gets progressively more rushed towards the end and the writer starts to break some of their own rules like

Spoiler

on the sixth floor where Lena Jokel kills herself first when she gets the monster role and the gang concludes that it was simply too hard or impossible for her to win so she decided to kill herself in hopes that the others will be confused and fight each other. However, it is stated multiple times that the black tower is fair and would have balanced out the game out for the monster in this case, giving them a hidden advantage, yet Lena's case is so despairing she immediately kills herself. Nobody thinks anything is strange about this and it's never explained. Also, Mu Huixue's death is unecessary. It makes no sense that the black tower would force her into a position like this because there is always going to be more than one way to clear the black tower game. Bai Ruoyao's involvement in the last game literally only serves to kill her which makes no sense because as I said before, the black tower is fair and doesn't discriminate. The worst part about this is that Tang Mo, who always finds the third way when given two options, doesn't even try to find a different way.

[collapse]

Oh and also Tang Mo's ability is something that could be expanded on so much but it isn't which is really frustrating.

Worldbuilding: 2/10

The black tower gets like half a chapter of exposition so obviously it's a disaster. The way it explains the powers literally makes me more confused than I was before because of the clear discrepancy between ability power levels. It also doesn't explain what happens after the games which doesn't really seem important but it is kinda essential to understand the black tower's goal. <<less

A very very creative novel. This is similar to Global University Entrance Examination. In a apocalyptic world, people are forced into Battle Royale-style cruel games with high death rates, run by a senseless, inhumane and and almost sadistic 'System', with two main characters who are very intelligent and can exploit the loopholes, and who start out as enemies but turn into lovers. But where GUEE was like a 'lite' version of this genre, this book really delved into it. The games in this novel are like math or logic problems,... more>> and feature a sadistic and twisted version of popular story characters like Cinderella, Santa Claus...

The true villain in this novel was always the system, pitting humans against each other and bringing out the worst in people in a dog-eat-dog world. The apocalypse having game-related elements and basically resembling your average melee game but with RL consequences (killing enemies kills actual people, regional players and regional servers, props as rewards, clearing bosses and floors...) was very interesting.

The book starts out quite slow, but really picks up speed by the second half. The mysteries were based off real-world physics, science, philosophy, math and logic concepts and really made me think lol. The cast of secondary characters was awesome. I especially love Mo Huixue and wished she had lived longer. A lot of the plot-twists were really unexpected and gripping, especially the ones near the end. It was riveting - I think this author is really good at writing mystery, thriller and plot-twists. Some of the plot twists really haunt me.

Romance was very very light; in fact, this is more of a mystery/psychological novel than a romance lol. The book in general didn't really touch much on anyone's emotions - you don't get a lot about the two main leads' developing feelings and it's pretty subtle and understated. You also don't get much exploration into the general psyche of the people after eight months of apocalyptic Hunger Games-like games.

But there were still A LOT of unanswered questions. So... who is Eve? What happened to her? How were Eve's chosen selected? And I'm not sure how to feel about the fact that all civilizations are put to a senseless, cruel 'test' or 'evaluation' once they have hit a certain level of progress or advancement. There's also some very subtle ethnocentrism and Eurocentrism - most of the top players and regions were either Chinese or Western/European, with most of the good guys being from these two regions too. <<less

This has one of the mind-blowing plots ever. When I first start reading this, I don't really had high hopes for this cause this is kinda famous and some famous novels are a bit overrated which fail to live up to my expectations. But, the first 20 chapters really got me deep into this novel, and I finished this in 6 days.

The games are very thoroughly created and the author might have spent a lot of efforts in them. You might kill your brain cells while trying to understand the... more>> twists but it is what make this more interesting. And, we can see MC developement from being a mere librarian to one of the top players in the whole world. And, he's not that damsel in distress waiting for the ML to rescue him, he can think of ways to save himself, and that's what the novel more worth-reading. And, I like ML character a lot cuz even without seeing his fanarts, his character is one with sexiness overload. He's already good at fighting even before the earth is online since he used to be a solider. Their romance is kinda slow-burn but you can see some sudden gay moments. I like it when this power couple fight the enemies together and the tactic understanding between each other is very good that they always know what the other party want to do. And last but not least, the plot is a serious one with mysteries but it has occasional jokes and funny moments that will lighten up your spirts. And Tang mo's ability book roasting Tang mo is very hilarious and Fu wenduo and Fu wensheng cousin-duo interactions are very funny too. So, in conclusion, I give this novel 5 stars and it is a must read for unlimited flow fans. There one thing that left me confused tho that the black tower is created by humans or aliens? Near the end of the novel, it was explained but I didn't really understand it. <<less

This is some of the best writing I've read. Its incredibly well written and the main characters are coherently written and unlikely many similar stories the games don't get tiring as their all unique and the character always manage an intriguing method of completion. The romance is also very natural its not really a big part of the story but the characters have great chemistry and seeing it develop is satisfying.

Rating: 5/5

Sometimes I think that giving a 5/5 is too intense, and that somehow giving a novel full ratings will prohibit me from giving another novel the same rating. But then I remind myself that 1) life is too short to not give well-deserved novels a 5/5, and 2) even if there were other novels that were more deserving of a perfect score, it doesn't change the fact that my time with this novel was 5/5.

This novel has absolutely phenomenal world-building with independent characters. The romance isn't the forefront... more>> of this story, it's truly the world and its characters. It's always such a pleasure when two characters are well-written and chose to be in love with each other versus seeming like they were forced to be just because it is a BL. What I mean by that is that their love isn't all-consuming, being their only defining personality trait. They are truly characters with their own motives and personality who happened to find each other. The game instances/situations are interesting with high stakes, where it doesn't feel like the character can just gloss over them easily. It is one of the few times that I can say that I'm reading it for the plot. I can not recommend it enough! <<less

This novel focuses heavily on the game-based plot. So if you like puzzles and mind twisters, you'll like this novel. There are no juicy smut scenes, so read it for its plot.

The translation needs proofreading and editing as there are grammatical and vocabulary errors, but once you're introduced to it you can be prepared for it in the coming chapters.

There are a lot of dialogue and paragraphs that contain a lot of external explanations from the author (a trait that I only find in Chinese novels).

A trait that I dislike... more>> about Chinese BL novels is calling the couple "husband & wife." In a homos*xual relationship, it is either "husband & husband" or "wife & wife, " because the whole point is that it is NOT a straight relationship. This is like trying to explain which of the pair of chopstick is the fork, and which is the spoon. It just doesn't work that way.

The MC (Tang Mo) and ML (Fu Wendo) take a long time to actually be together.

Here's a very brief summary in their relationship:

Spoiler

The two get a 'push' by chapter 166 from a Black Tower informative reward, then acknowledged their interest in each other after the Eve Reward, and Tang Mo gets a revelation about his own infatuation towards Fu Wendo in chapter 205. He takes the initiative to kiss the ML in chapter 207. A hint that they went to the final base was before the Noah's Ark arch. They then come out with their relationship at the start of the final tower attack games.

This novel is really good. It's full of thrill, mystery and adventure with lots of complicated survival games that it would make you lose lots of brain cells on process to understand what happened. This novel scene are kinda hard to understand that if your are not very good or fluent in english than it'll be very hard for you to enjoy this. So, Get ready to whack your brain and lose some brain cell coz Earth is Online

PLOT: It has one of the most interesting and Unique... more>> plot. Love the world building. The story itself is so interesting that you'll never get bored. It even make up for the lack of Romance. The games are just wonderful and challenging but it's very complicated too. The way characters, especially MC and ML think and clear the games..... It'll will make you feel like idiot. [Before reading this novel I thought I was pretty smart and I am a gamer too but if that sh*t happen in here..... lol I wouldn't have survive even a day].
Spoiler

The most complicated game for me was the 3rd floor, truth clock game. Other games, atleast I have an idea of what's going on and the game rules and regulation but that one, it wasn't until MC explain that I realized what's going on. Well, the reward was worth it toh. The game I enjoyed the most was the six floor game with all the tower bosses. I honestly think 5th floor game was the easiest..... it would be a lie if I said I wasn't disappointed even a bit. I was expecting more.

CHARACTER: Love our ML and MC and their ability, especially MCs. I love how MC went from normal person to Pretty good at fighting..... thanks to ML.

As for the others, Every important side character were lovable. It was pretty interesting to see their different unique abilities and how they tied up connection with our MCs. I Personally really liked Mu Huixue. It sad that I really don't know how her ability works although it might have been explained...... I only know her ability is too OP too LOL.

I actually really liked black tower bosses more than the people. I mean it's pretty interesting to see all your fairly tail character as villains. Their characteristic and interaction with each other..... it's was fun.

ROMANCE: As everyone is saying, this should be shounen-ai genre instead of Yaoi. The slow burn Romance (i actually like slow Romance but not too slow) where MC and ML doesn't meet each other till 40 chapter, they confess (that too indirectly) only after 150+ chapter and kiss in chapter 207 and s*x in chapter 210. Well, it's actually pretty understandable for the slow Romance with them being in serious situation of life and death but that's not the main reason for why it should be shounen-ai.
Spoiler

I know it all because of Chinese censorship but like seriously, you wait for a long time to see that happen but then we got only 3 sentence about it...... that heated moment we all have been waiting for (or maybe only me) it ended as soon as it started, like seriously, how can you not be disappointed. A little bit more detail wouldn't have been bad plus the censorship is made in such a metaphorical way that unless you read it properly you won't even realize they did it.

The Romance in here is like a gem, pretty rare and hard to find. It's actually fit with the plot considering their situation. Their Romance were more about their tacit understanding between them. Well, despite the lack of Dog-food romantic moments, the story itself is very interesting and it make up for the lack of romance..... still I wanted to see Dog-food moments. Now I gotta read next novel with lots of it.

I love the extra with parallel universe if things didn't happened. It was nice to see all the character again and it kinda felt nostalgia.

The ending.... honestly I felt the explanation was a bit lacking and I am left with lots of question that's not answered or answered but I didn't found it.
Spoiler

The ability of players, is it really due to genes? then what about the previous player with same ability? Is disappearance of M civilization that MC and Huckster talk about related to black tower? What about Eve then? Since, even after tower disappeared, MCs ability didn't vanished so is it possible that Eve and those other previous player who cleared 7th floor also had their ability with them even after tower disappeared? What happened to them? Did they belong to different world like different universe? I wouldn't have thought about this but since Bai Rouyao talk about those player to our MC, making it look like an important thing, even wanted to clear 7th floor to know more about it but then it was just left like that.
