She was the godly thief of the 24th century, yet she was reincarnated as a good-for-nothing idiot with no parents. Not only that, she had to bend her will according to her relatives’ mood. Idiot? Tr*sh? Very well, sooner or later, she will show these group of silly earthlings what it means to be too late for regrets!

Battle-qi? Magic? Her talent in both magic and martial arts will mortify every genius in existence. The position of the clan chief? The mythological Vermilion Bird? Want them? So sorry~ She already took them!

But who will tell her, that the cute boy who gets carsick easily was really the mythological Vermilion Bird? Then, what about the elder that’s residing in her body, just which deity does that mysterious soul belong to? Furthermore……

Why was it that other people’s companions were those kinds of domineering, and incomparably mighty type? Why was it the ones around her were either an evil merchant or a sly fox, a useless nerd or a playboy, the worst is this sick pretty boy! What happened to rule the world, and standing above all else? Please don’t joke with me!

This story is really interesting and is like a mix of xianxia novels with female MC in cultivation world. I like it as I notice that many xianxia stories usually have male MCs who, more often than not, have a harem, so having a female MC is a nice change of pace. The MC in this novel also has more sense of humour than the MC in the sequel (?), 'Genius Doctor: Black Belly Miss' so I laughed quite a bit.

Spoiler

The story is broken into several very different arcs - school, hunting and exploration, empire building - with some overarching behind-the-scenes plots...

It is extremely MC-centered, with almost all the rest of the characters being reduced to stereotypes. The story has way too many competitions and bets, especially with ridiculous odds! And while in some cases they are organic and justified enough, in others they seem very artificial and out-of-place - what's the point of pitting someone a few levels lower against someone higher, or making a first-year-student fight against third years?

While MC is properly OPd, she often wins by finding another way out (sometimes - involuntary) instead of solving the problem in a direct way.

Unfortunately, I'm not quite a fan of the story. Although it is well written, the mc's personality and voice, as well as the constant harassing from others got to be slightly annoying after the first twenty chapters. I wasn't really interested in constantly waiting for updates, and reading the chapters held no excitement or any other feeling for me.

Well, the title reminds me of novels like DOP and DKC. I was intrigued by the description so I expect that this will be a great read later, when many chapters become translated.

A great Story that did catch me better than any other I read in 2025. It's really good but with so much wasted potential.

Quite ironically for 2579 it's problems mostly are because the story is to short. The characters have character and are well written, but most of them had to little screen time to bond deeply with. It also feels like a bit of a rushed ending and after the switch (after we are done with the second race) it's a bit to repetitive because the arcs are to... more>> short to dive deeply into a topic.

Also as it's often in stories where the MCs "collect" people, many were either not mentioned at the end or did come very short. I feel like 2k more chapters with her visiting home more often would have been great.

But that sounds overly negative. The story got me by surprise once or twice and the story isn't overly predictable. For a "realistic" scenario, where the MC isn't super experienced, the world building is also great.

Lastly I did shed some tears whenever background characters died heroically #Rabbit. <<less

It's pretty good. A lot of level ups and tons of face-slapping which is common in what you see in chinese novels. It follows a familiar plot of a modern person reincarnating inside a seemingly useless body that everyone deems tr*sh and gets powerful with every enemy she faces as she embarks on different adventures. What's more, it's a female MC!

I steer away from male-centered, cultivation novels because most of the time it contains a harem, but with a female MC, it's much more bearable. If you want a cast... more>> with more female characters though, you would be disappointed. But since the vibes don't really show the harem type despite the influx of men, it's passable.

Like similar novels with this genre, despite a revolutionary female MC, the rest of the female characters remain as side characters and you can only count those who contributed a slightly significant change to the plot with one hand. The rest are negligible and only serve as fodders that do at most 2 things in the story.

Unfortunately, like many novels that takes place in a different world that uses aura and magic, it still contains a huge gender divide. Which is weird, by the way, especially in a setting where strength does not rely on your body but by your cultivation levels.

Spoiler

And it's funny that among the five male members of Phantom, if you swap Tang Nazhi, Yang Xi, Yan Yu, Qi Xia, or Li Xiaowei's gender, their strengths would still be the same. It can even introduce difference types of female characters. And it can provide more complex relationships, too, that is not necessarily a romantic one.

[collapse]

Spoiler

Also, despite how the author explains time and time again that the other races, especially the elves that "does not distinguish between genders", they don't even have a single female Silvermoon guard (basically special forces among elves). It's really funny when you read it when it's portrayed that ALL female beings are to be soft and feminine when they're not antagonizing the MC. And how they compare the female characters with the MC just reeks of "not like other girls". I find it amusing though. Except for Long Miao, the deceased wife of the Dragon King, all strong female characters had to have a tough past to be on equal footing with the men. SYX, Wen Ya, and Fengling, for example. Like, I thought there's basically no difference between genders? Alas, the number is still disproportionate.

[collapse]

When it comes to the world's magic system, one thing I'm disappointed about is the lack of in-depth explanation of how the magic and battle aura works, and how the characters cultivate. Since Shen Yanxiao (SYX) was not originally from this world, she's basically like the reader. But the how's and why's of the cultivation progress for battle aura and magic was mostly glossed over. How did the humans cultivate? Is it the qi in the air and objects? It wasn't really pointed out.

Spoiler

How she managed to conjure fire as a beginner to burn Shen Jiayi was not really explained and I can only fill the gaps with my knowledge of the genre. There's even less explanation on how beginners even choose professions to the point that a stone could detect it through color. Was there a change in the battle aura's form? Did the nature of magic change, which is why Warlocks have corrosive effects to their curses? But how did that happen? How did they "choose"? How did Yun Qi's previous Warlock disciples even change professions into Mages or Priests after the Warlock's reputation declined? How were spells and curses even created? None of these questions was answered.

[collapse]

Spoiler

Furthermore, when SYX went to the Howling Abyss, it was said that martial arts seems to have vanished. Which is confusing, because other than the sword, knight, and archery skills, how did they move around? How did they hone their non-exclusive skills? Aren't they martial arts? Does that mean that once a battle aura person gets their weapons stolen and their magical beasts killed, they're basically useless in a fight?

[collapse]

For a chinese novel, the number of the chapters was the typical amount. Chapters are very short, but the chapter title connects to the next with each event. There are also a lot of arcs, but there is too little time for SYX to fully absorb everything that happened. Personally, it seems too little. About half of the story was about drama, and with how large the character casts are, most characters are pretty flat. Only the main characters have a semblance of character depth, and the others are pretty one-tracked. Even with her close companions, not much were known about them. The story is focused on the main character a lot.

Spoiler

And as much as I adore Xiu, since he's a god, he's pretty simple. He's basically THEE indifferent person who glares at everyone and meets girl who melts his heart but remains a glacier in front of everybody else. I say the most interesting character is Qi Xia, and until the end, not much was known about him. Poor boy fell in love with the wrong person. And next is SYX. As a morally gray character, she is NOT at all a kind person. But she cherishes her people. One thing's for sure though, she is a MASSIVE hypocrite. Or maybe she's just an unreliable narrator. Her internal monologue would really make you raise your eyebrows and sometimes you don't know if it's her or the author who wants to insist that she's not a kind person.

[collapse]

Because of the number of characters and the nature of this kind of novel, a lot of characters that are "important" to SYX don't get enough screen time, and even until the end, the finale was tied up with a few words, that depends on the reader if they enjoy that kind of ending.

HOWEVER! It was still a nice read if you want a really OP MC with a powerful backer and loyal followers.
Spoiler

Too loyal, in fact, that sometimes I just have to agree and move on despite the ridiculousness.

[collapse]

Spoiler

Staple arcs such as schools, competitions, bets, face-slapping, secret birth origins, empire-building, and great wars are a dime a dozen here. Plus, we can't forget the monstrous prodigy MC!

[collapse]

There's moments of sadness and grief, times where character antics would just make you burst in laughter, and the plot is easy enough for a majority feel good story. However, it contains some pretty dark themes and some arcs are heavy. You should expect lots of good-for-nothings always underestimating SYX as she proceeds to face-slapping them and then they grovel to MC. It was also pretty bloody, especially when SYX encounters formidable opponents. But it was not gory and the details were glossed over.

Spoiler

One of the arcs I enjoyed was the mermaid continent arc. Satan was just too funny despite the cruel acts he's done. Who knew that Genius Doctor that I read first was a sequel to this

[collapse]

Lots of adorable creatures, and MC schemes and steals left and right (it's ridiculous, honestly) with her godly skills. There aren't any white lotuses and green tea b*tches either. (Because of the lack of female characters). Overall, it was not revolutionary (in my opinion), but it's not really time wasted. I had fun myself despite my countless questionings. For those who wanted no romance though,
Spoiler

there is one. It was not the main point though, but they were adorable that I personally sympathize with the characters suffering from too much dog food. Fret not, the romance only kicks in about 1000 chapters in.

[collapse]
Compared to quality, with how many novels I just shook my head to, this one is pretty average. But, the antagonists are pretty cool, especially with how the main one came to be. (And with the ML, this gets a plus point.) <<less

I like the plot but the author could've done better with romance because its really suck. I feel like other guy have more personality than ML and I don't understand how suddenly MC falling in love with ML. I mean their interactions is like a robot with a human. I'm so disappointed bc I really like the plot.

One of my fav CN novels! Read it twice. First time reading it, I stopped at chapter 1, 800+ cuz I lost motivation to read cuz it was still updating at that time. 2nd time I finished it around last year I think. It is quite a long read but I really love how op the MC is. Tbh, it's the typical, I have medical skills, fighting skills, best-in-all skills and powerful pets. But, it's still a great read for me. Its just a matter if you like face slapping... more>> moments and op MC.

I plan to reread it when I kinda forgot the plot already. XD <<less

Wow! All I can say is wow....I just finished this novel after reading non-stop for a few months now and boy was it a rollercoaster ride. I enjoyed the highs, weathered through the lows, and came out overall satisfied. This novel had a mixture of everything that makes a story good but could also put it at risk if there weren't saving grace elements. Although at the end of it all I love this novel, I have to say some things left me feeling a bit unsatisfied. I felt that... more>> some loose ends weren't fully explained (albeit there is only so much world-building and loose end tyings that can be done before it's TOO too much) and the end was slightly abrupt. Yes, it wasn't all speed reading, and heightened emotions always (there are slow and tedious moments that you have to push through), but the moments when it was, kept the reader on the edge of their seat. I haven't read Genius Doctor: Black Belly Miss which is the sequel that was translated before this, but from the bits and pieces I picked up, a lot of things tie in and are addressed later down the line (my next read!). This is by no means a perfect novel but it was a great novel/world to experience. I love the characters (OP FL and stoic ML and all) and wished for some better flushing out but again I'm content. Overall, I totally recommend reading The Good for Nothing Seventh Young Lady and say that it is worth sticking through till the end where about 95-98% of all the puzzle pieces fall into place. <<less

This author, really loves OP FL. Thanos can do nothing against their FLs!

I've read some of their works and now I'm immune lol. This author is really good at world building. No loopholes that I can complain about (maybe i've forgotten, afterall, after chapter 1000, who can still remember chapter 5).

Love the theme of this one: Godly Thief, this one is much palatable than godly miraculous doctor. But the ending is not that good for me. "If I know it's gonna be like this, I would stop when the last... more>> arc is finished!" Was my grumble. <<less

Omg. I can't believe I actually read this til the end. I usually get tired of a novel after the first 50 chapters or so but this kept me hooked the entire time. I loved how the chapters were pretty short so whenever I went to the next chapter, it actually felt like I was reading and getting somewhere.

The plot was so interesting that it kept me totally invested. I don't remember when I started reading this since at the time it was still ongoing. So, I would read it,... more>> leave it for a few months while waiting for the chapters to stack up and then come back to it. I was surprised I still remembered the names of most of the characters considering how I could finish a novel in a day and still have trouble identifying the names of some major characters lol.

The plot was really one of my favorite types. It had the type of MC with multiple hidden identities that shocks her companions every time they find another one of her identities. I loved those scenes! I loved the concept of a reincarnated MC and the plot developed really well as the story went one. The MC is OP as well which is another thing I loved. <<less

C13 - 3⭐

I just start to read the novel and maybe it's still too early to make a review. But still, I want to make my first impression of this novel and I don't mean harm okay. I find it difficult that the story has a mix of eastern and western (terms, building, etc), specifically in terms of their cultivation name and way (?) —I don't even know if it's appropriate to call this cultivation. I don't know is it from the original or translated version. Anyway, I will still... more>> read the novel and maybe I will adjust fine. I will make an edit if there is a change in the review in the future:).

C340 - 4⭐

Okay, even if at first, I find it difficult about mixing western and eastern, now I am quite comfortable when reading. So it's fine. At first, I was disturbed when the MC stole from people indiscriminately. But, yeah... She's not Robin Hood. Now I'm not too bothered. It's just that.. our MC is too OP. Still, I will make an edit if there is a change in the review in the future. <<less

It's okay so far. The one thing that is a constant annoyance is how when she's at the academy the descriptions keep shrinking her down. We can imagine at first she's the same or a bit shorter than the other family members around her age. Later, the descriptions come forth and describe her as shorter than her roommates. And at some point she becomes "tiny" compared to everyone else. The author seems intent on diminishing her to the size of Tinkerbell from NeverNeverLand.

After reading up to chapter 380 I have... more>> to revise my comment. It's just not realistic, especially with Qi cultivation worlds, to have no one injured or killed with as much danger as the novel portrays. Yet this is the case here. By its absence, the missing element draws attention to itself. <<less

The novel is very enjoyable, while being quite relaxed most of the time. If you are looking for thrill and tension, this has some of it, but not a lot.

It's a pretty standard chinese fantasy novel for the most part, but just having a female protagonist brings so much. The MC is likable, and most of the cast are too. This novel doesn't have a lot of action, and at least so far doesn't repeat scenarios as much as some other popular chinese novels.

This novel is a total mess as... more>> far as continuity goes. The author forgets stuff all the time. The chapters are also short, so although it is possible to binge large portions, and the reader might find a lot of stuff to be strange. Ignoring these weird "glitches" and weird decisions made by the main character can be a bit annoying. The romance is so slow that you might as well skip this novel if romance is what you are looking for. It does have romance, action, city building and so on, but the romance doesn't start before far into the story, and the action and city building etc. Aren't explained in much detail, and the main character is mostly going about her daily life or worrying about the greater plot. The greater plot is pretty interesting, although a bit cliche. There is "face slapping" but it's not to the degree that it feels overdone or annoying yet.

Edit: around chapter 1400 the whole "formula" of people comming to get their own face slapped is getting pretty tired. It has gotten to the point where it is really annoying. There are so many more reasonable ways to deal with some of the problems, but the main character just wants to show of with violence and insults. <<less

This one's actually pretty average. It's not something I was particularly hooked on but it is a good time pass read if there's nothing else available.

- The story has very ordinary OP FL similar to any other OP FL except this one is particularly abusive to her friends. She especially beats up this one kid called Tang Nazhi really badly and gets away with it because she's the "female bestfriend". Anyways her personality takes a 180 degree when she's with the ML and suddenly she's coquettish and 'aDoRaBlE'. The way... more>> she blatantly ab*ses all her friends and that's seen to be her acting strong and 'DiFfEreNt FrOm OtHeR GiRlS' was the most annoying aspect of this book.

- Other than that there's not much to hate about this book. The romance is particularly slow and it seems as if the author herself wasn't sure as to who should be the ML and just conveniently dumped the role to the nearest character after a few 100 pages. And there's no "hot, steamy moments" for those who are looking for it. It's extremely pg 10 and there's not many FL, ML fluff moments as it is.

- Yeah, it's a pretty average book like I said. I thought the occupational divisions for magic and douqi and the FL learning one of both was pretty interesting. Also the members of the phantom excluding the FL support the book well, although they get thrown away for a large part of the novel. Even the different continents containing different races like elves, dragons, mermaids etc etc and the fl's adventures to all the continents to unlock her bloodline was a pretty intriguing journey. This aspects generally held my interest for the book. If the FL was slightly better as a person, I would like the book a lot more. <<less

If you're really into this kind of novel (and boy am I right now) then this would make a fun read. One that you would probably finish in the span of a breath, and then forget about until three months later where you wonder whether it has updated much. From where the updated chapters have reached nothing much has happened in terms of the relationships she develops and where the greater plot is heading but idk. I feel like I would continue this if I had time.

First of all, it’s different from DKC and DOP in that it is more like a female wuxia protagonist who had found someone or something to help their cultivation. Thus, it focuses more on her instead of relationships with males and may progress a bit slower since she doesn't need to get OP so quickly. She isn’t only observing, it was only the first scene/situation and it wasn’t right for her to expose herself yet. After that, she did fight back in her own way using something from her past... more>> life. It doesn’t deserve a 5 yet, but definitely doesn’t deserve a 1 based on translation speed and DKC has short chapters too. <<less

Story is same as that of "demonic king chases his wife" and DOP. Nothing too interesting. Also the chapters are too short like quarter the size of an ISSTH chapter and the translation rate is also slow. I wouldn't recommend to read this novel.
