So far so good! I like the characters and every one of them (MC/heroines) have potential for good future development. The writing is well done and only reason I give 4/5 is because of some personal preferences that I know not everyone will share with me. Still this is one of the better finds for me in recent years in the fantasy category. I especially enjoy the villanous MC that is still relatable because of his OCD.

Keep going translator! This is one of those novels I would love to binge... more>> read so I wouldn't forget the finer details from previous interactions between characters. <<less

So far I've enjoyed my time with this novel. The story is less about the MC stealing heroines (but that does happen) and its more about being stuck in circumstances you can't control. Basically every major character has this idea behind their backstory.
Spoiler

MC has quite literal insane levels of OCD, his wife is trapped in a marrage with the MC for reasons related to her family, another heroine has a soul that turns her to a psycopath, and another has her legs broken being stuck in a wheelchair.

[collapse]

The translator is really good, so you can enjoy a quality translation that flows rather neatly.

Its not for everyone as the depictions in the story can be harsh for the people reading, so proceed with caution if you'd like to start.

While it does have some flaws, in that the perspective change quite a bit which makes the pace slow at times. Some of the things the MC does is quite unrelatable and strange. The major conflicts in the story haven't started but have been foreshadowed after 30 chapters. These flaws dont hide a a good story about characters trying to overcome their personal demons and trying to become comfortable in said circumstances.

When I first started reading, it was for the game elements but the story line is actually pretty good. I've tried reading a lot of the heroine with the villain MC genre, and I didn't enjoy them. This one however with the main character's extreme OCD is quite interesting, yet quite frustrating sometimes when it comes to his wife. I wish he'd tell her he has OCD so it can be explained that he isn't a complete a**hole who has to slap you if you slap him. Nevertheless, the OCD... more>> with the aristocratic story line is quite unique and makes for an interesting read.

The translation is quite kinda slow but that's my fault for being spoiled having daily chapters every day. The translation quality is great and is worth the wait of chapters.

Overall, you should definitely read it. Although I'm not sure about later chapters because it's only 28 chapters released at the moment but its in my daily check folder for novels <<less

Writing/Editing is really good. Honestly not sure where the story is going, but I definitely want a lot more. I will update my review in time once I get a better idea of what the story will be about.

This is novel is what I call legally and morally disgusting, but personally, I like it. Oh my lord, forgive me. I feel this story is hot. Even after reading many web novels with similar stories, I found none that surpass this one. Among the heroines, Laura is the weakest. I feel like she doesn't fit in the story. The author failed to develop her character. Even in the harem ending, you don't see her character. It's like the author forgot her. The main character, Ferzen, only focuses on Euphemia,... more>> Yuriel, and Lizzy. Maybe the reason I highlight this novel as top is the main character's relationship with Lizzy. It's really a top Stockholm syndrome story compared to Euphemia and the main character. Lizzy can't walk due to the main Ferzen's past mistake, and she wants revenge on him. I pity her character. She is scared shitless of Ferzen, but when she eventually gets something to fight back, it becomes a very interesting story. The main character has been threatening her, saying he would claim her as his own if she tries to take revenge and fails. Their relationship is so twistedly beautiful. I have never found a story with a more disturbing hate-love relationship than MC and Lizzy in this novel. <<less

Whoever tells you this novel doesn't have any NTR or NTL, know this: THEY'RE LYING!

Ferzen, the main character of The Villain Who Robbed the Heroines, is the most hateful bastard I've ever read about. The more I discover how egocentric, heartless, and cruel he is, the more I come to cheer for people who seek his demise. Every single person he's ever hurt to is pitiful, so it would have been a rather satisfying end to see Ferzen's nemesis reach his goal and kill the bastard who broke the only... more>> person he came to treasure in the world. The said nemesis, Ciel Midford, is a hero you would follow gladly, because the only thing he has ever wanted is to see people he care about happy, so that the woman who gave him the much needed strength to move forward could be as strong as he saw her to be when they met and lived together. Until the bastard stole and 'tamed' her.

Anyway, I like this story quite a lot. Would recommend. <<less

Credit due where it's due: MC's OCD is the funniest plot point I've ever seen in this genre. It is a stroke of genius and absolutely wonderful. The OCD compulsion justifies MC's cruel tendencies, so it also is a neat solution for many weakminded authors who don't actually want to write sadistic MCs even though they voluntarily and inexplicably choose to write in that genre.

At the same time, I wish the female lead was more of a human being with thoughts and feelings than soggy cardboard. I wish the author... more>> had a tasteful reason for having so much of the story being other women and MC flirting even though the entire premise of the story is how he's so madly in love with the female lead he forced her to marry him. I wish the dialogue sounded like humans conversing, especially between the two main characters. I wish the "sex" scenes... didn't exist. Honestly I just wish the author was competent.

There are also abusive aspects of the relationship which are genuinely abusive, a rarity in this genre. It even reads like an abusive man's wet dream, complete with the "he r*ped her but she liked it" trope. MC emphasizes isolating his victim so she has has no choice but to depend on him, as well as doing everything he can to destroy her sense of self worth, including r*pe and assault. At the same time, the author contrasts this by also painting him as a gentle, kind lover who spares no penny to lavish her with wealth and luxury. There is one part where MC apologizes to her, and she is very surprised at his apology. It's funny how it's implied that MC is such a nice guy for displaying the bare minimum of decency. The novel frames these acts of basic decency as if it justifies his "tough love, " and the girl starts to fall in love with MC because of it. "Yes he kidnapped and ab*sed me, but he loves me so it's okay."

I often complain about how weakminded authors write "sadistic" characters because they want to be edgy, but these "sadistic" characters turn out to be fake sadists who are genuinely nice people. So on principle I have to give this guy credit for halfway delivering.

But why is it always that, in these stories and in real life, these men aim to dominate weak willed, s*upid, and dull women? The female lead is a waste of space with no merit except for having a sufficiently symmetrical appearance for MC. All she does is mope around; she doesn't even try to escape or negotiate with MC. I know in real life the preference for such women is because these abusive men recognize that they are worthless and can't do better, but at least in fiction you can dream a little can't you? You don't have to go as far as writing a strong female lead who teaches MC how to be a decent human being, but isn't the entire point of the fantasy that you're supposed to tame an intelligent, wild girl and show her off as a trophy of your conquest? The harder she is to tame, the shinier the trophy? This is even worse from the storytelling perspective. Instead of being a tension filled, controversial relationship, their every interaction and dialogue is boring and a pain to read. I think the author realizes this on some level because as the story progresses the female "lead" character shows up less and less.

That said, it's unfair to expect good writing from the author when he writes dialogue like this:

Spoiler

Click-clack.

I paused for a moment when the owner of those footsteps made herself visible.

Unlike usual, Yurial wasn't wearing the traditional wizard garb but a white blouse combed with a black skirt that reached her knees.

"Hey you, just say hello or nod with your head. Don't just freeze when you see someone. It's bothersome."

I haven't even said anything or done anything to you.... yet.

And the first thing you do when you see me is to start bickering with me.

'Is it that time of the month....?'

Hmm, she is certainly on edge today, so it's possible.

"Hey, you pe*vert, why are you gawking at my belly?"

"Since you are particularly annoyed today, I thought it must've been that time of the month for you."

"Wha..... I can't believe this...!"

"If it isn't, then explain it to me. Why are you annoying me first thing in the morning? Are you in such a desperate need of attention?"

"Ah....."

As I stared at her, Yuriel flinched and lowered her head, probably because she had nothing to say to me.

"Sigh..... That's enough. It's becoming tiresome to even talk to you."

Sighing, Ferzen passed by the still frozen woman and went down to the first floor of the Administrative Building - the department office.

[collapse]

tl;dr Other than the OCD part there isn't anything about this novel worth complimenting. I love WNs and their many wacky genre but I'll just have to read actual books instead of whining that amateur writers produce amateur products. <<less

The Villain Who Robbed the Heroines follows a protagonist who has transmigrated into the body of Ferzen, the villain in a novel called "Struggling to Survive Together." Ferzen possesses some disturbing characteristics including sadistic tendencies. The reviews indicate that the true appeal of the novel is in the incredibly detailed development of the main character Ferzen and his psychological struggles with identity after the transmigration.

Ferzen's symmetric obsessive compulsive disorder, stemming from the author's own experiences, adds a gripping realism and complexity to his characterization. He maintains an aristocratic and cold... more>> demeanor, not allowing anyone to cross him. The initial arc dealing with his identity crisis is described as painful but leading to an excellent payoff as his character evolves. Ferzen was voted Protagonist of the Year in a contest, speaking to his unconventional but surprisingly compelling attributes as a main character.

However, other reviews pointed out that his cruel behavior towards the female lead he forces into marriage can be off-putting and hard to justify despite his psychological conditions. Some found the constant focus on his OCD tendencies repetitive. The fusion of his original villain personality with the transmigrated modern personality is not executed clearly.

In summary, The Villain Who Robbed the Heroines seems to feature a remarkably well-developed albeit morally questionable protagonist dealing with a rare psychological disorder. For readers who enjoy dark stories with complex character studies, Ferzen's journey to understand himself could make for an engrossing read. But those adverse to disturbing content and questionable treatment of female characters may want to stay away. The unconventional premise and main character appear to be either a big draw or a big deterrent depending on personal preferences. <<less

Oh man, this is an awesome read!! I like everything about this novel, but what I prefer the most is how the twisted personality of our MC is portrayed and explained with his circumstances. You can't blame him and it's exciting!

Disclaimer: In the following review I mention the names of the heroines and indicate in rather general terms some of their psychological changes as the story progresses. If you think this is a spoiler don't read on.

Very mixed bag. Not simply a sadistic fetish fest, but it is hard to deny that this is what it is either, especially in the early stages. The high point in terms of psychological depth certainly lies in the late stages of the relationship with Lizzie---this is really why the book manages to transcend... more>> pulp: the relationships with Euphemia and Yuriel quickly descend into smut flavoured with catfights that are unsurpassed in their cheapness, while the other heroine (s) are pretty forgettable---but this is also rather annoying: the main lead is excessively introspective while Lizzie has never thought about her own actions, leading the blind to pursue the blind, finally resulting in an ill-fated relationship that isn't even sexy. Early characterisation of the heroines is generally done well, but they mostly lose any individuality once they come to psychologically accept their entry into the harem; Lizzie is the primary exception here, and this is because 'acceptance', such as it is, only comes at the end (if at all).

In more detail: undoubtedly well written in places, the work is sometimes even thoughtful in its own---very limited---way. Some of the smut is also done well, if you have the stomach for it. On the other hand, the book sometimes manages to be vulgar without being erot*c (Euphemia post training or s*x scenes with Lizzie), cheap when it should be thoughtful (competition between Euphemia and Yuriel), and excessively sensitive when it should be meaty (relationships with Laura and Lizzie). Also, being addressed to a mature audience does not mean that r*pe is not r*pe or gaslighting not gaslighting as one other reviewer appears to think: the tags are their for a reason. Marital r*pe is also r*pe, which should be obvious since it is marital... r*pe. On the other hand as another reviewer says: the tags are their for a reason. This isn't 'The Villain Wants to Live' despite some superficial early similarities and so the comparison is either highly selective (Deculein is handsome and aristocratic) or in bad faith. This story is not cute, the villain is really a villain, and the point of the story is to follow how a villain seduces, gaslights, coerces---in a word robs---heroines in a context where 'Stockholm Syndrome' and 'BD*M' are relevant tags. This is hardly going to be My Sassy Girlfriend, but it is rather better than, say, 50 Shades of Grey. <<less

The main character is a transmigrated soul in a medieval setting, possessing a body in a novel.

Unlike most transmigration novel the transmigrated soul merges with the original one, so the main character possess traits from both the original souls. This result in a way more consistent character, which is not as much stereotyped as the classic modern man in medieval times, so Ferzen actually continues to be Ferzen a flawed person who's struggling to find his place in the world.

The story follows his life as he escapes from the original... more>> novel script and goes on with living his life. The world building and the political subplot, while not being the main focus, are well made.

The main cast is composed by Ferzen and the harem members, everyone of which has its unique (and traumatic) background, and the writing is mainly focused on exploring their relationship. There are smut scenes, which I greatly enjoy reading in books since it seems that s*x is part of the normal life of a human (this statement is not confirmed by personal experience).

A special mention goes to the footnotes by the translator that always manage to bring a smile on your lips at the end of the chapter. (I'm kinda invested in her life updates now) <<less

Fantastic.

I usually avoid KR novels, but this is good enough to overcome the stigma. The author has an understanding of the complexities of sadism that's rare even among professionals, and it's all the more impressive for an amateur erot*c writer. Lizzy's story especially stands out as beautifully done, although it's a very slow burn.

As a narrative it has some flaws, the worldbuilding is a bit questionable and the characters mostly aren't as fleshed-out as I'd like. Still, even these flawed aspects are better than most R-18 novels. In any case,... more>> the plot weaknesses aren't enough to spoil the erot*c scenes. If you're looking for sadistic erotica, I haven't found any novel on this site I'd recommend before this one. <<less

Yeah no. Y'all be scratching your eyes out especially past chapter 200. It gets harder to read the nearer you get to the ending.

All these premise of realism ironically makes it borderline unrealistic. It's well written enough but the plot becomes progressively illogical and doesn't make any sense at all lol.

If you're bored in life and just want some negative stimulus. This novel would provide it for you.

First of all the MC is an evil person, debatedly not by choice but a matter of circumstance like his OCD with symmetry being the driving force of almost all evil acts he committed, so I won't really recommend this web novel to those with tastes that can be categorized to vanilla category and people with soft nature. The story itself can be depressing considering how pitiful almost all the characters were, particularly the women in the MC's harem. Heroine#1 got Stockholm Syndrome, Heroine#2 was raised and prepared to be... more>> the MC's wife but ended up as a mistress, Heroine#3 was a reincarnated person with a curse that makes her wacky every full moon. Well, I think I just understated their circumstances. Anyway, the thing that appealed to me in this novel is that the MC doesn't justify what he had done and instead wholeheartedly accepted that it was evil, he was also decisive and was willing to bear the consequences of his actions. He was truly villain—a fact that he fully embraced, not because he chose to be one but because he needs to, or rather forced to. <<less

The best adult novel I have read for the past 6 years since I began reading novel. Its not like hentai, its also not a love romance, its a serious novel. The adult scene is just like a way to dominate and tame the heroine. The MC did it as he always think its for the best for his uncontrolled desease.

I dont feel h**ny reading it, instead I become more into the role of each character felt.

The story is similar like other the like of popular school professor knovel, but... more>> this one gave me the most indepth experience of all.. Im sure I will remember this novel for a long time.

It is also the first time, I see MC family "brother" has a significant role on supporting MC and story building. Finally a breakthrough from standard always "sister". <<less

In my honest opinion the novel is great, with the main reason being its character development. The main character seems cold and emotionless at times, but also extremely caring and kind at others. The side characters aren't your everyday generic type, and have interesting personality changes throughout the novel.

The only downside is that the novel does contain some dark elements, mostly stuff messing with peoples minds. It also has some content like r*pe that could trigger some people, but if that stuff doesn't bother you too much I think its... more>> a great read. <<less

Just my thoughts not a serious review.

Its good for the most part. I enjoyed it quite a bit actually. One of my gripes though is the

harem... I love me some harems but this one for the most part is annoying. Don't get me wrong I love the girls here its just they don't get along at all, Hardly interact or even talk to each other the whole story except when they bad mouth each other in their thoughts. I guess its kind of realistic with jealousy and all that but... more>> still come on...

Spoiler

Another con is how horrible he treats Lizzie. She's one of my favorites but 240 chapters and its pretty much been negative reactions. I understand he knows she wont forgive him and he doesn't deserve forgiveness either. However he helps her then immediately does something horrible to her. There actually might be some redemption in the last 10 chapters with what's coming up but I wanted more.

But boy is there a plot twist towards the end. Especially when you learn about what those hidden status meant at the beginning of the novel. Wonder how it'll end.

This is a very good novel to read.

At first it has the same feels with the villain who wants to live or Fersen is like Deculein with additional f*** up quirk like his OCD and shits.

But later in this story which is currently, Im chapter 60 right now is that Fersen stays true to himself, unlike Deculein midway that he changed his mind for the person he cares. While Fersen is not bending his will and do everything to stay as character even if he is suffering like being stabbed... more>> in the chest etc.

Of all the korean novels that I read this is my favorite. <<less
