I, Mukouda Tsuyoshi, was caught up in a summoning circle into a different world where sword and magical skills are the norm.

However, when the summoners cast ‘Status Appraisal’ on us, the three other people who were summoned with me had [Heroes from Another World] in the occupation box, whereas I was the [Random Guy Caught Up in the Summoning Spell].

As for our ‘Skill Set’, the three Heroes had outrageous sounding skills rolling after their names like [Holy Sword Technique], [Holy Spear Technique] and [Sacred Magic].

In fact, I too have a skill you know? My one skill is called… [Net Super]…

Because it’s clearly not a combat skill, I am automatically treated like garbage.

Furthermore, the King of the country who had summoned us looked really shady.

As a veteran lightnovel reader, I can read the atmosphere well enough to come to the conclusion that ‘This is a bad world to be summoned into’.

Thus, it is decided. No matter what, I must get out of this castle as soon as possible and escape from this rotten country!

For once the isekai is good. It is very laid back and casual. I found myself strangely addicted to it. It is a good time waster. But, this is exactly what it is. There is a lack of engagement, no plot, not antagonists, no developments, no relations.

Very disappointed in this one. It started off with a pretty interesting premise but becomes repetitive really fast. The whole story is : Fenrir hunts monster -> long description of Mukouda cooking a Japanese meal with the monster meat -> eat -> adventurers guild staff are shocked when Mukouda brings out corpse to sell. Repeat that 70 times and that's Tondemo Skill.

The biggest issue is that there's 0 world building, no conflict. This is a slice of life, but it's missing the 'life' part. As much as we love mundane... more>> things, there's no way everyone in this world will be ok with a guy who has legendary creatures as a familiar and is selling materials from s-class monsters AND from another world. <<less

The story is fun in a laid back way.

But There's a couple of negatives:

The MC is annoying with his, I wanna live a normal life routine. Unappreciative of the blessings & extra skills the gods want to give.

Without his familiar fenrir, telling him to be grateful, he would be even more annoying

MC going from weak to strong is ok. But atleast in the first few hundred chapters, he is still using his families, and puts minimum EFFORT to battle n get stronger.

Also, too many descriptions of cooking 🙈

The early volumes were great. The action is not much, but the adventure (in search for monster/meat) was delightful to read. It's more of a light adventure kind of novel, with cooking as its main plot. But starting from vol.8, it became unsuitable to read since the protagonist deviated from the adventure he supposed to do and stay as a pushover as always

Super pathetic MC. Even his familiar wish he be more brave. Even a bit. A kid si more brave than him.

This guy is brain dead. His been fired by an arrow but he thought its a stray shot. Even his familiars thinks his not thinking at all.

This story is average. It can be an enjoyable ride. The problem lies in it’s main character Mukoda. He’s just pathetic. They make him seem smart because he doesn’t trust the people who summoned him (reasonable), but overall is a braindead coward. With that pathetic attitude and unthinking brain it is of no surprise he worked at a shitty company that took advantage of him in his first life.... more>> Stop complaining and actual be assertive for once. <<less

Kinda hate the protagonist, he's too much and not enough of a coward so far; goes along with everything a talking dog tells him to to the point he's more of a pet than the dog is. Granted the dog's practically a god so that's not entirely inaccurate but MC's the dogod's source of good food! A threat of fasting for a a day or two and there'd likely be no more being forced to fight green midgets while wetting himself despite the dog's magic shield that's probably powered by... more>> infinite gluttony.

Kinda want to keep reading in the hopes that MC will remember his heritage, man up, grow strong enough to BBQ some hot dogs but somehow I doubt that last bit'll happen. The rest probably; the dog'll shape the poor guy into just another adventurer because it thinks being a merchant is for wimps turning the guy into a standard protagonist in everything but his semi-rare power of having a portable transdimensional shop which will only be used to feed the dog for the rest of his life.

Update at a bite over 200 ch; my predictions came true- he even grilled sausages if sadly not made out of dog meat, no, MC's a reluctant adventurer and using the shop more to feed his growing hoard rather than using it to become an awesome merchant. <<less

I'm not good with both english and reviewing things so i'll just make it short..

The story is not that good cus the author put too much meal time to the point I find myself skipping the proccess of the meal being made. It is a cycle of the same dialog about how delicious the course and all. I mean well the title really fit the plot so much that 90% of the story is just that.

You can expect for adventuring but don't get hopes high. Why??

Cuz MC ruins it by... more>> being cowardly pu*sy and unreasonable. For example he don't want to dive in the dungeon but it's okay hunting on field around town, well it is not him actually that hunt the monsters but his familiar and he got barrier protection strong enough to repel almost everything. Get what I mean? Isn't it annoying... And it repeated too yayy....

There's also where the MC don't wanna get his rank up cuz it's not him who hunt the monsters, and conversation around this gonna repeated too. Fuctt... The plot hole just too much to bear.. if you wanna simple life than quit adventuring and focus on merchant. There's no rule about you can only use adventure's butcher if you become one of them first. You can always use their's as long as you paid them.

Last part that will make you surely go crazy is this... W-w-what, U-ughh, N-n-nooo, T-t-that, I-i see.... Things...

If it is rare it's okay but you will find it common used by the MC to the point almost every page has that damn words and it gonna spread like wild fire to characters he deal with... And there's nothing you can do to stop that...

All in all if you find with this novel than good for you. I guess my mental didn't strong enough to endure the trial <<less

The story, other characters, cooking session, dungeon and everything is alright but the personality of the MC he's too naive or too s*upid even. Even a monkey will try to improve their self right? Its okay for the MC not to be smart and greedy but PLEASE GIVE HIM THOUGHT PROCESS APPROPRIATE FOR HIS AGE hes a middle aged man and a functioning citizen right? Hes not someone who didnt get education right? Its clear that he has somekind of work but companies wont hire someone that s*upid like... more>> the MC

OP tames and to balance the story the author made the MC too s*upid <<less

This is a lighthearted story about a guy traveling around a fantasy world together with his partner Fenrir and Slime. Lots of food is involved. They meet various people, fight monsters, collect meat from monsters, and then eat the meat. Don't jump into this story expecting depth, as you'll shatter your ass in the shallow water. Read this story if you want a lighthearted travel story with lots of food. It's a long road trip, but it has beautiful scenery.

I usually don't go for isekai slice of life stories but this one I actually enjoy since it's not just a lump of pervy wish fulfillment involving a harem consisting of at least one beaskin s*ave. It's mainly just about a guy travelling and cooking while accompanied by his op familiars. I especially enjoy moster tamer genres so that's a plus. All in all a good slice of life isekai without all the overly force harem/romance shinanigans. I mean, I enjoy those genres too but not if it's super forced... more>> and the heroines are alll one dimensional like they usually are.

Another good story ruined by a tr*shy Japanese main charater and poor writing skills. I've grown fed up with the mc's constant display of overwhelming cowardice in literally every moster encounter that occurs no matter how disgustingly OP his accompanying familiars are. His familiars literally mow down every group of monsters they confront yet the MC who is constantly surrounded by a virtually invinsible barrier loses his sh*t just by having goblins come at him. The fact that his strongest familiar keeps indicating his disgust at his behaviour yet the MC doesn't man up tells me that this is another case of a Japanese author trying and failing to be funny and things won't change anytime soon.

Also, cooking is supposed to be a major genre of this novel yet all cooking scenes consist of the exact same recycled dialogue of the familiars saying "delicious~" and asking for seconds, to the point where I started skipping all cooking scenes all together.

So yeah, while I was all for this novel in the beginning, it quickly devolved into your average, below average JP crapfest and I am now dropping it till further notice. <<less

the MC's though process barely changes throughout the whole thing, he's always focused on cooking and doesn't really care about battling.

Isn't battling half the fun of fantasy stories? The most this guy can do is simple low level spells, he only bothered to learn the simplest kind of spells instead of learning big, powerful ones like I was hoping for. Even now he only relies on his familiars

I get this is slice of life, but it's also isekai, so is it too much to ask for the MC to learn... more>> at least one high level spell due to his status as a person from another world and learn to beat the snot out of monsters ON HIS OWN?

4 star for early story before slime talking sadly after that fel and slime gets really annoying they spam I am hungry comment too much thats %100 annoying.

So this novel is everyday of japans salaryman without any talent other than cooking nothing more and I like characters dosent matter plus slow story progression evne more plus slice of life 4 koma style but even with that still boring in many ways and if you ask why ? Well MC is %100 pu*sy he have 3 blessing and he being %100... more>> moron denies 4th one because he cant use water lol plus to that he is not that weak and he have strong servants like why ?

Cooking is even more boring after some time believe me even with anime and manga this is gonna bore you after some time.

Side characters even more boring than MC they exist to clap MC victorys nothing more they act like morons and always like wow wow wow nothing more they have no character personalty just being bland boring WOW beings nothing more.

Not single good support character here not single one sadly and Goddesses just beings that act like ret*rds nothing more they have nothing to add story they are just hungry and demand more and more sweets foods yada yada nothing more.

He is really rich yet he act like poor and He is really strong even without servants yet he acts like pu*sy so this is main reason for hate I think like nothing happens everything like Kill monster people praises MC they it food and done nothing more.

He is adult yet act like other clueless dumb teen MC characters and he is just s*ave to others like he just bring and make food for others they demand more food and special items and he gives them away bla bla really gets boring after some time he have no spine and he is strong and have strong servants but you know what ? He worths nothing theres no excitement.

Summary is First time you read you gonna like it but after some time its gonna get boring and same exprience again again thats way go watch anime then read manga then read novel otherwise you gonna suffer from boring texts nothing more. <<less

Why are they all like this? I don't understand. They always have to get a "crap skill", that causes them to be looked down on by everyone, but the skill is actually really op. Why. I just want one good story where somebody else gets that crap skill, and the MC actually gets a great skill.

Boring. Too much narration in the 1st couple chapter so I couldn’t read any more. It was more telling than showing, as in, this and that happened and I did this, and such and such. It was a 1st person narrative and it’s just not to my taste. I wont rate it because it seems unfair to rate it based on those opinions. Maybe it will be better in latter chapter? I’ll never know cause I’m not going to continue with this story.

I like the concept of the story.

The story centers on a randomly summoned office worker in a fantasy world, who has a rather unusual skill with which he makes new companions.

In this story you will find:

... more>> -inspiration for dinner ;)

-the main character, who is a coward

- the company of the main character increases over time (Are all legendary beasts gluttonous?) ;) :D

-World with different gods, gods are self-centered

-Multi-level dungeons

-Elves are characters with various obsessions

The adventures of the main character is told slowly. The Mukouda prefers to avoid dangerous, hazardous situations. His teasing with his companions is funny. Some readers may be annoyed by his reluctance to fight. The repetitiveness of some elements can be annoying.

Kind of funny how the main character upgrades stats.

I understand the negative opinions. It all depends on what you are looking for in a story.

If you're looking for something light and undemanding - those crumbs of life in a fantasy world about a guy and his gluttonous companions - it's worth giving this story a chance, or take a peek at the anime :) <<less

Look, I like slower slice-of-life like novels. More often than not I get bored of them eventually, but I like them. But this is just bad. I'll give it 2 stars because there's enough there that interests me that I've read most of it (what was officially translated of the LN when I read it plus a scattering of MTL (painful even for a MTL probably because of the writing quality issues) and Kitchennovel's translation (see below)), but I skimmed over a lot to get there.

It's just repetitive. Like, mind-numbingly... more>> repetitive. Ispheria's review about only 4 conversations is a bit exaggerated, but only a bit. The offerings chapters are the worst. Somehow it got worse after they were made to stop bothering him too much--maybe because there's fewer actual interactions between them, so now it's just lists of the stuff he bought and "thanks man! *runs of with items*". Multiple pages of this at a time. The rest isn't much better. Everything goes on way longer than it needs to: meals, conversations, dungeon levels, etc, not because there's interesting description, but just lots of boring words about mundane things. And from one time to the next of any given thing there's very little variation. There doesn't even seem to be that much variation in what they cook, so I'm not sure it even works very well as a cooking novel.

I don't actually mind wimpy MCs that much. But the way it's focused on so much is tedious.

He constantly complains about his bad luck in love, but doesn't exactly do anything about it. Except when he does, and what he deems a personality failing isn't a deal-breaker because she's a pretty elf, but grandchildren are, as he goes on about for several paragraphs. Being a stepparent isn't for everyone, fine. But it's the attitude. You didn't care about anything but looks anyway, so you weren't going to get a serious enough relationship for it to be an issue. You're in your late 20s already. Grow up. Look, I get the whole "normies explode" thing is supposed to be funny, but I don't care. It isn't. This is why women don't like you. They probably smell it on you. And all that is before the whole

wanting a s*x s*ave thing. Written as something clearly meant to be comedic relief. And then when he finds out he can't get one he at least wants some cute girls. He won't compromise on that! he said passionately. Again, this is why women don't like you. In the end he couldn't get cute girls and he's not tasteless enough to look at the married women he ends up with that way thank goodness. The little kid being teased by the other s*aves as a gold digger for saying she wants to marry him when she grows up, in that innocent way children sometimes say things like that, is also a bit...

I don't get it. Author: if you want to write a harem write a harem. If you don't want romance don't worry about it. This in between state where he wants a girlfriend but just whines about it makes me tired.

Finally, the reason I wanted to write a review: the translation. I can't say it's bad, mechanically speaking. It's just that it's altered so heavily it can hardly be called a translation anymore. Editing out the repetitive bits is maybe barely acceptable since it really is repetitive. Although even then I don't really like it, and it won't do anything about the repetition you get from one chapter to the next anyway. But they also move stuff around, add in explanations that weren't in the original, delete stuff that isn't repetitive just because they don't see the point, change the characterization to make MC more assertive, and even add entire descriptions and conversations. I don't really get it. If you can't let the work stand on its own why bother translating it? Well I kind of get it, since as I said there's enough to interest me that I've read most of it. But I do wonder how many of the positive reviews have only read the translation on Kitchennovels. Even though they do detail the changes made in the footnotes, I think some might underestimate how much of a different beast it really is. It's not a translation, but an entirely different version. And even then I can only say it's mediocre from what I've seen. <<less
