I really like both the MC & ML's character in this novel.

MC may come off as really annoying and immature at first glance, but I find him really realistic. And the more you read, the more you realise he's so much more than what he portrays -

MC is 24, and I personally, who is in a similar age bracket can seem to find shadows of myself in him. We're grown ups, but we're still young. It's an age where we are still searching for ourselves and our purpose within this world. At this age - we tend to let our emotions take the wheel. And the beauty of it is that throughout this novel, you grow up along with our MC, almost unknowingly. He is a real, multifaceted character, and that's why I like him so much.

As for our ML, he is truly so wonderful for MC. He has already been through his own growing up phase, and he balances out our MC nicely with his maturity in response to every problem that comes their way. Communication is key in relationships - and ML really embodies it. He tempers our MC's character perfectly and brings out the best in him.

I really liked the part where MC sees ML's search history on his laptop and there's just stuff that he googles in relation to the MC (e.g. How to handle your young bf if I rmb correctly lol) that is so contradictory to his usual mature self.

Another tidbit I find nice is how open they are with their sexuality, there is no beating around the bush with both of them which is quite refreshing.

However around ch.75 where MC steps in to save dad's company a little jarring compared to the rest of the novel. It suddenly becomes the MC being all hero-like and saving the day lol. But it only lasts a few chapters and it doesn't affect much.

conclusion- a novel that will definitely stay with me. I wish I could read it all over again for the first time. 🤩 <<less

My luck was really good this week. I found several swoon worthy danmei novels to read or MTL.

This gem was one of them, got me hooked on the first chapter and sunk deep into the bottom of love life.

This story is so incredible that I think calling it amazing would be an understatement! The pacing of the story is amazing it keeps me interested from start till the latest chapter (I actually tried mtling but gave up because I couldn't understand it at all; better wait for the translation.－O－)

The plot is well developed and the couple has this amazing healthy relationship that many people would freakin want to have. Ting Shuang's crazy antics and Bai Changyi's understanding created a balanced relationship between them. Their relationship felt real.... more>> (Please God give me a Bai Changyi) Bai Changyi changed Ting Shuang and vice versa, they bring out the best in each other.

Another thing I love from this novel is how they solve their problems, I admire how maturely they handled the situation. It's not like other novels where people take unreasonable revenge for minor offenses; no, it's not like that. And, no, the MC is not a softie; rather, his actions are reasonable and relatable. (Although he is silly sometimes)

Each character have their own flaws but I think that's why I find them perfect.

This is so beautiful, I cried while reading this, especially when they talked about their big age gap and death which comes along with it. I really recommend everyone to read this. I honestly didn't expect to learn a lot, along with the main character, about life from the male lead's experience. I love the characters and their development in terms of both relationship and character. This novel has a special place in my heart.

If you can't deal with second-hand embarassment well this might be a difficult read for you.

Still it's amazingly good.

Don't worry about any cheating drama or huge time skip breakup between MC and ML, the climax of the plot is actually about something else - which I really appreciate. All in all it's a very comforting read.

When I started reading I expected more since I saw how highly rated this novel was. Honestly, I've come to regret not reading some of the comments that rated this story 3 or 4 stars. For me it's 3 stars. I'm basically gonna repeat the things they had talked about.

The story is mediocre. I felt like it could have ended much sooner. I lost interest long time ago.

The ML is indeed too perfect and compared to the MC it feels like there isn't anything likable about him (MC). The relationship... more>> seems kinda flat.

I was having a hard time seeing MC's positive personality traits. I hoped for character development and I almost died in the process.

Later on I started feeling all ranges of negative emotions. Meaning that just even a little thing could piss me off. This is a me thing tho.

I could get pissed of even at things like, when the ML was sick and had a tempeture around 45 degrees and he told the MC that it's because of the hot water he drank. (I don't know if this was supposed to be a joke and I was just taking it too seriously but for a professor to say that... that's kinda dumb dude)

Reading the reviews now has just made me so angry remembering my emotions.

I wished to see more of BCY teaching and learning more of the discipline

4.4 It's like assistant architect but with sweet and funny first and very little ab*se on the way.. back to fluffy sweet ending. actually, I think this novel will get u to remember ur 20+ old or think about ur current age, although they feel like full of fantasy but the sentiment was realistic for me, hit ur heart with a 'pang' and then get ur mood to all 'sigh' and.. author+ translator I love ya.... with all dedication u did for smut part LOL I really love their interaction... more>> but nit like assistant architect we knew all of the ik and out our MC ML brain.. too bad, here is just focus at our MC and we just get a glimpse of our ML attitude and thinking <<less

This novel is a gem. I have read novels from this site for years and this is the first time I registered so that I can rate this.

It's fun, exciting, relatable and a little bit of spice is there. This a heartwarming novel and I'm sad that I alread read it. I felt empty.

The story is just *chef kiss*. The author really show the characters development as the story unfolds. As a youngster, you can also learn a lot with this story, especially if you attend university or taking other formal educations. The beautiful story revolves around two characters with a wide age gap, one that yet dreamt to be in that age, and one that couldn't go back to that age. I cried a river at one particular scene, where the MC sings a song that is only the two of them... more>> know. Lastly, Bai Changyi is just too perfect.

and to this day, it's still the most beautiful love story ever written. <<less

very entertaining and heartwarming to read! Their relationship started very early and the rest are all about them trying to accommodate to the other's way of living and understand each other's personality.

the MC isn't that likable, he has a bad temper and is a bit childish, but what made me like him is his self-awareness about his flaw in character. He knows he's not that good but he doesn't dwell on it that much. It's his personality and he knows he cannot change it to oblige or fit in with... more>> other people. But he does his best to put effort when it comes to relationships.

I very much love that, as relationship nowadays is all about changing your partner's character or attitude just because they don't like it.

the ML is, I know for everyone is so likable, he's mature, intelligent, and always calm. But what I like about him the most is the way he treated the MC and their problems. I love how he, I cannot say it's spoiling because he also educates him if the other's actions are too much or are already affecting both of them, it's understanding that his partner is built like that and that's all fine because he loves him and he knows the other little guy is doing his best to understand him too. Honestly, the ml's character is so unreal lol but that's why I love him. He's the person, a lot of us, want to be but cannot do so.

but the university setting is very realistic!! About retaking a course and being ignored by your professor because you missed a class lololol. <<less

For a couple of years I started reading web novels, this is my first ever time leaving a comment under a novel. There's only one thing I could say after I finished reading everything from start to end. Amazing. This story is a masterpiece and heartwarming. It cleansed my soul and I learned a lot of life lesson as a hind leg of humanity and as an adult.

It's a really good story. In some moments - since my brain is quite spoiled - I craved more "knives and glass" haha, but everything was very mature. The story is quite "healthy", so I really enjoyed reading it. Thank you for the excellent translation! ^^

I liked the premise, I liked the relationship, I liked that the two characters wanted each other to grow and have the experiences that they needed.

Also my gay heart always has a soft spot for a realistic awkward coming out plot.

This is an amazing story that has actual character development. The MC and the ML are good for each other, and they both grow in the relationship while also having pretty good communication. It’s an easy read, nothing stressful, and the translation is completed so you can just binge it. The story is pretty interesting, and I hope there’s more (though that is quite unlikely.). Overall, this is just excellent!

*also there’s more spicy scenes than the usual, though still pretty censored.

A satisfying and light read with a super cute couple!! I definitely recommend it!

The story starts with the MC Ting Shuang, a university student studying in Germany, coming out of a recent breakup with his boyfriend of seven years. His impulsive younger brother, who wants him to move past the pain and find some fun quickly, signs him up for a dating app. Through this app, which shows the distance between you and other people, Ting Shuang connects with an older love interest who turns out to be an important... more>> person at his school!

Through his relationship with the older mild-tempered ML, the younger ill-tempered MC grows, matures, and gains a better and deeper understanding of himself. He deals with a tricky family situation later in the story that really demonstrates his progress. They have an adorable relationship where there’s no angst, no drama, and no major misunderstandings. I came here for a light read, not expecting much. Didn't realize I will pick up a gem.

Ideal relationship between much older professor and his student. Not just a shallow set-up.

There is no boring drama (there is drama but it's reasonable and digestible). No cliche angst or misunderstanding.

There is proper intro-climax-wrap. This went straight to my Reread list.

After reading this novel, personally I've got many ideas and thoughts about how to solve inclusively the clashes and antimony. I recommend to those who reached this page to READ the novel it won't make you bother at all while you could get your relax.
