This is awesome and adorable and cute and funny and sweet and precious.

I raced through the story straight in 1 sitting!!!! It's that good!!!!

Translation is awesome and flows beautifully.

I was hooked from first chapter!

Man, halfway in and I'm not impressed with this sissy, work-alcoholic husband of hers. He's 28 years old, but like a kid. How did he manage to have a girlfriend before? I like MC but I don't get why she likes him

Edit: Ok, finished. Not a bad story, just not exactly my cup of tea

Pure sweetness with little drama - a palate cleanser for the soul after all the melodrama and revenge stories that seem to dominate the genre.

Also, the quality of the translation is very good.

5/5, would read again.

Definitely, need to give a big applause to the author.

From how the story was written and the characters personalities are really to my taste. Although there was not much drama unfolded, the interaction between FL dan ML made me melt. One part made me sad and next part me laugh. No needlessly face slapping, just heartwarming story but still retain its realistic feel.

This series really deserves it's high rating. It's a joy to read, with a likable male and female lead. It's a feel good love story that's meant to make you smile. Absolutely worth reading and well translated!

Most novels when doing the sudden marriage trope and rebirth trope usually involves so much drama that leaves the reader emotionally and mentally frustrated. This one doesn't for the very simple reason of Yu Dong not chasing after revenge by harming those who wronged her but instead she chose the other option of dealing with them as they come towards her.

Yu Dong's gentleness and kindness isn't the holy mother type but rather one forged from experiencing the hardships of life. Years of experience molded her allowing her to be kind... more>> and gentle without allowing people to step on her. This makes her quite likable to me, Yu Dong had used her knowledge of the future not for the usual self-gain we see in rebirth novels but rather for something everyone one of us wants; Happiness and Companionship.

At the same time Xia Feng is likable as a male lead and main character because unlike other male leads where they exist to show or highlight the MC, Xia Feng is very much his own character. Grumpy Crab showed how Xia Feng is like without Yu Dong, how he is around his friends and family. The thing that most authors fail to do is to make their characters human while being at the top, this is especially prevalent in modern rebirths where common sense and morals are things we are more familiar with.

Xia Feng's sensibility and maturity endears him to the readers with how he acts towards Yu Dong during and after they got married for his mother's sake. Despite putting his ex in a bind by giving an ultimatum, Grumpy Crab redeems him by showing his acknowledgement that he was in the wrong and accepted his ex breaking up with him. Where other novels would ignore its main characters flaws, Grumpy Crab doesn't and instead acknowledges it, and makes the characters acknowledge their flaws and learn from it.

Befitting from a cast that is filled with adults and young adults.

The beauty of this novel lies not in the romance of Yu Dong and Xia Feng but rather how their relationship with other people, their interaction with society affects their relationship with each other. Xia Feng and Yu Dong reaches a better understanding of their selves and of each other from observing and seeing how the other interacts and treats those around them. Which is how we really judge and learn about those we like.

Xia Feng and Yu Dong's love isn't the burning romance we always dream of but instead that sweet romance that slowly warms our heart. Grumpy Cat perfectly writes the kind of love that is grounded in realism and one we knowingly or unknowingly hope for; a love that understands and warms us from the inside, to quote Yu Dong,

" 'I'm waiting for someone who can put a stop to my loneliness. So that when I listen to sad love songs with them, it won't make me want to cry.' "

Therefore I would recommend this novel for those who need a pick-me-up, an inspiration for love, or simply wanting to take a break from the harshness of reality. Rebirth on the Doors to the Civil Affairs Bureau delivers a soft and warm love story, filled with comedic interactions, and envelopes the readers with gentleness and heartwarming story with each chapter. <<less

ooohhh yes! That was some good comedy fluff! A bit of plot here and there, but nothing super annoying or anything! It's mostly how their relationship develops, and I'm here shipping and cheering for them, kyaa kyaa! I liked the two main characters, twas fun! Fuwahahah!

Realistic rebirth novel. The drama wasn't overplayed and overdone, but instead reasonable and understandable. It was a nice break from all the other webnovels on this website that believe the only way to make you feel something is to bring it to the extreme and shock you with it.

Finished it, 10/10, would recommend. Fluffy, sweet and with the right amount of drama. No brain dead characters or side quests that makes no sense. It's a modern slowburn but not so slow you want to rip your hair out. ML is well written and the relationship is well written. No unnecessary miscommunication for the sake of plot or drama, which is a pet peeve of mine.

It's one of the better "feel good" story out there. No big dramas, no fierce face-slapping. There's actually no real "antagonistic enemies" either. The first few chapters will leave you in tears from laughing. Later, you'll also tear up from the realistic life stories and struggles from other passerby characters. I call them passerby because most of them appear once and for the most part, we don't even know their names, just their troubled life. The MC's 2 BFFs can definitely become their own FL of the own novels. Each... more>> main & supporting characters have great depth. I love the extra on their Son, his POV is definitely hilarious.

Such a cute, fluffy, enjoyable book. There's a little bit of drama, but it's mostly solved right away. If you're looking for a sweet, light-hearted story to brighten up your day, you won't be disappointed with this. Otherwise, I would give this one a miss.

10/10 100% would recommend.

Absolutely amazing. It is so sweet, so fluffy, so full of feelings: love, friendship, sadness, anger, happiness, desire, anxiety, loneliness, heartbreak, depression, excitement, all sorts of feelings.

I felt that all the important relationships in this book were so deep; the mixed feelings the FL had towards her mother, the unwaivering loyalty towards her friends, the hopeful but guarded experience of falling in love with the ML, her passion for her career but her strong desire for companionship were so beautifully interlaced.

I felt amazed at how each of... more>> the trio of friends could easily be the FL of their own novel, and how they were developed, how each faced their own concerns, but through it all they always loved each other and had each other's back all the time.

Don't even get me started on the ML. Omg, my standards have been raised once again, I have found another ML who will forever remain as an ideal mold for every single man I meet from now on.

The translations are sooo good!! The translators notes were on point, and I always felt very grateful that they took their time to find the rightful lyrics to the extracts of the songs and poems the author included instead of just trying to make it by themselves and running the risk of ruining the experience.

All the little encounters the FL had during her job were so satisfying, the extras were so funny and still in line with the ambiance of the novel, even that sudden third extra that came out of nowhere was super sweet and left me wanting for more. <<less

this story is about a woman that being single for entire of her life and being regret for being alone because of she experience "love hurt" this story succeed make me to read without stop until finish. I love how the MC make a decision to try pursuit her happiness with enter the marriage itself. Eventhough at the beginning she choose the ML because she know that ML would be success in the future. But I love to read how their love slowly grow. MC live her life to the fullest and give it all to learn love someone and it turn out her decision is not wrong as the ML give a feedback. I love how about MC make a new decision in her life and try to help people around her. This novel teach us the meaning of life through her show at the radio.

okay I have never reviewed before like critically or formally? mine are always full of my own thoughts and opinions in a more not-a-review way, if you understand it...

but okay, this was a really fluffy novel and I just love the MC like too much. I love her character that she is not entirely this 30 year lonely lady. but she was able to rekindle her passion and fire with ML and try to make the wrongs she did in the past right again. I also loved how it neatly... more>> transitioned from them trying to accept that they are married and then they like each other, at least to me I felt like it was not that forced and was natural. I didn't feel a lot of difference between when they were just married to when they started to like like each other, because either way I was getting fed dog food from the start anyway. Another thing is how both of them don't reject the advances that they do to each other and actually understand and communicate well.

THERE WAS COMMUNICATION which literally solved the non-existent fights and misunderstanding really well.

I also thought the author portrayed the mentality of the a future and a past person really well. But, sometimes I did wonder whether the late 2000's was really like this, because the whole time I felt like reading a novel that put after the 2020's, I'm not sure how to explain it oh well.

Another thing is I LOVE HER FRIENDS like too much, I would even like a spin off on the relationship of the yueyue couple cause their story also seem really interesting.

ok that's all for this not-so-review, but I beg you guys to recommend me some other novels that are like this with no misunderstanding, no fights, COMMUNICATION, and no other cliche love tropes (love triangles, break ups and getting together, and having this whole second lead and love rival). <<less

This was overall, a great novel. Good pacing, likable characters, and it was probably one of the best slice of life novels I’ve ever read. The best thing about this novel, for me, was the male lead. The male lead was respectful, gentle, kind, but the dynamic between the male lead and female lead wasn’t one like “dominant and non dominant” “wolf and the lamb.”

They both had regular personalities and jobs. No one was falling over to impress the male lead nor was he super rich and famous. The female... more>> lead also wasn’t a Mary Sue and I loved that. The slow yet fulfilling development of their relationship warmed my heart.

Yes, give this novel a try if you like slice of life and romance! <<less

Realistic besides the part where they just met in civil bureau and got married.

The romance isn't abrupt. They first just wanted to be married because of reasons and ended up being in love with each other. The plus points is that they are not against to it. Not like other novel that if someone fell in love they divorce and then play tag of war. Regretting that they let go of the person and wanting bring him/her back.

The pacing of the story isn't fast nor slow. It was on right... more>> track and it was also well written. Big hugs author~

Btw, it's my 2nd time reading this one. An evidence that I like to read it because I didn't feel bored when I reread it. <<less

When they start to tolerate, accept and liking each other it's start to change my phone into fluffy pillow 😭

After they in more deep relationship, Xia Feng will pick Yu Dong after she done working at 2 in the morning and sometimes walk through the night together like this world is theirs 😍

Wow 4years has passed, no wonder. I was looking at Grumpy_Crabs novels and picked one at random. I saw that this is not on my reading list thus must have meant that I haven't read it yet.

So I picked it up. I am enjoying it, it's funny and amusing. Then I reach the "touching porcelain" chapter and everything clicked in. I READ THIS BEFORE! That chapter is memorable.

I checked the novel and saw my previous review. What are the chances haha. I didn't expect that. I'm now in the middle of the novel and will read till the end.

I'm done reading. So far, the novel mostly revolves on understanding life after marriage. It shows how our MC and ML interacts, get to know each other and understand love. Ways to make a married life more successful and to lessen issue.

There's also the friendship between MC and her friends. The relationship between mother and daughter. Etc.

The extra chapters are amazing.

There's a lot to learn while enjoying the novel.

Highly Recommended!

Hands down top of the list when it comes to modern josei in this site. Only rebirth of the malicious empress can compare to this one if cultivation and historical josei novels are included. Maybe top 10 of my list in my 3 years of reading novels (finished more than 50 series including Jap and Korean novels) I always go back to this one Everytime I get tired of the action and scheming in cultivation novels.
