I know many people have given this novel high ratings, but I just can't see the reason why so many would do so!

The main CP was okay, but the thing I hate the most about the MC is the fact that he goes off on his own for thrill seeking adventures without caring about anyone.

The part I hate the most was that he goes off to a wartorn country or some such shit, gets shots, and suddenly realizes he wants to be with ML! Like WTF?!

And the way he spontaneoysly... more>> broke up with the ML without a single hesitation, it just made me feel that he's cold blooded or sth

And another thing. I hate that that when MCs transmigrate into a book, they keep refering to the ML as the protagonist. It may be true and the ML is the protagonist but simply calling him that makes it feel like he only sees the ML as just part of the book and not a living breathing human! And while the QT novels may make this trope work, most novels really don't make this work. Really, it just comes off as the MC regarding everyone as a charceter in a book and not real live humans!

All in all, it was a good read. I've read better, so I can't really say this worked for me. The angst was there, and the slow chapter updates in CG site really put the SLOW in the slow burn!

So yeah... if you're into that, go right ahead! But if you're not, then this book is just not fir you. It's not for me either! I like BL stories with angst. I don't usually read them, but I do turn a page or two when I come across good stories with angst. It's great for stress.

But this was a bit much. I hated that MC gave no regard for his iwn life and continuously courted death again and again, without caring about how his lived ones would feel about it. And then when it comes to some situation he just doesn't give a reason so it just adds to the chaos! Like WTH?! Can't you at least make up a believable excuse?! <<less

I love the adventure of the MC lot, well for the last few chapters I've read in raw is so angst that I almost tear up sometimes, when the system leave in the end it made me sad. But I also happy for Yuanmu HE with Xuanhe ❤️

I use MTL on the fanwai chapter, I never thought that the system is Xuanhe's cat from his original world and his name is Shun (?) It's the name that from MTL so. He is cat that raised by Xuanhe's family when Xuanhe still small, thus later he passed away cuz of old age. I never have think that the cat would be the system omg. 😭

I really enjoyed this story which was incredibly easy to MTL. Despite that the translated chapters come at a consistent pace about every other day or so.

The main couple is so incredibly cautious towards each other because of preconceived notions, whether it’s due to the past lives situation or knowing what happened to the original goods. At first they’re a couple who are together who won’t let each other go despite having no romantic interest in each other.

Some people are complaining about the MC being an arrogant rich kid and... more>> I don’t actually think that’s a bad thing. He is confident in all the places he needs to be without being swayed by the ML. They’re more equals than anything.

Their romance doesn’t revolve of every aching waking moment together and we get to enjoy them as characters outside of that aspect which I appreciate.

The face slapping is not overly done to the point of dog blooded, but there is still the over the top dramatics when needed.

I loved the cast of secondary characters as well. <<less

The relationship between the MC and ML is a nice change of pace for me. Although in the end, there were a lot of plot points that were built up, only to be overshadowed by the ending and never completed properly, the focus has always been between the vague relationship between the MC and the ML

Personally I would like to know more about the MC, especially him in his original world but that has never been the point of this story, so it's fine I guess.

The story on the surface... more>> appears to be super dog-blooded with family drama and shitty people but in all actuality the MC handles it in such a nonchalant manner, it winds up just being just another interesting event that happened. I would love to see shitty people getting their just deserts but with the pacing of this story, it feels just right. You will just have to assume they're suffering in their own way, and have no real way to rise again.

Once again, those has never been the focus of the story. Although it has gone through so much ups and downs, the focus has always been on the relationship between the two characters.

Usually, in a story, I tend to get impatient waiting for the two leads to get together, and get sick of their love sick brain once they're together. But for this story, it takes an interesting pace. And each of them have their own things to do while they're apart. Although this story has a system, the system is almost non-existent until the end of the story where it plays a heavier role.

Predictable but still touching nonetheless, there was a whole chapter detailing how much the system loves the MC in a familial manner although it came out of nowhere for me, seeing their banter the whole time. I am glad the system managed to be "reborn (?) " into another form to accompany the MC.

The side characters are pretty entertaining too, I think overall the world building is decent, nothing too spectacular but still interesting.

I just hoped that Xiao Shenglin had a more conclusive ending, because I really liked him.

I can't bring myself to like ML's mom though. I understand that it's hard for her to bond with a child that isn't receptive to you and just returned out of nowhere. But maybe it's because of how disgustingly realistic her "fakeness" and disdain over ML is over her younger son who is a major piece of crap is, that made me dislike her so much

OK story so far - with MC forced to do horrible things to the ML because of the plot and system - initially MC is just scared for his life, later he hates hurting ML just for plot's sake... ML is a reborn (twice!) character who is super handsome + super cold + super OP - before being reborn, he was still cute, but after his rebirth, he seems to be on autopilot, with bare minimum emotional settings... MC gains super-OP top brass friends and admirers, who sometimes bring in... more>> the required humor...

The story is humorous at times, and sad sometimes, with plenty of face-slapping opportunities and a very slow burn romance. <<less

Overall is a good read. Slow burn story with really interesting supporting characters and stories. MC slowly uncovers the reasons for certain outcome in the novels which were actually linked somehow. MC & ML doesn't really have any obvious aggressive pursuits but subtle is sweet and meaningful. Took MC a long time to acknowledge his feeling for ML. I was annoyed with MC a bit when he showed no care for his safety or other concern for his safety. His poor family & pitiful ML. But that was just a... more>> phase MC was going through. All went well later.

Most importantly, it ended with HE. So I'm satisfied. <<less

The development of feelings given the tough situation really was executed well.

Both MC and ML have interesting personalities.

The only downside I can think of is the rather dramatic ending, but then again, that's probably only because the rest of the novel was so well paced and developed.

I like the story since the MC and ML are not OP and you can see them struggle from their own hurdles and in their relationship. Although, I don't like "forced system tasks, but they are necessary in the story, or else there are no struggles.

Probably the biggest downside of this story is the MC. His personality is really good at first but becomes selfish and very undecisive near the end (120++). This costs some burdens to ML and the cannon fodders to die (extra chara). Another annoying things... more>> is the, drama, push and pull between ML and MC.

I like the ending and the extra chapters. I always think that the pit death system is always unreliable (which is true in most parts) but at the end... (see spoiler)... because the system has some relationship to MC

There a time when the two "broke-up" and everyone were wondering why they broke-up. Well, they really didn't really quite broke up, the MC was just waiting for the ML to finally fulfill his goal and be able to stand on his own ground and be of the same level as him. It looks like their just in LDR.

A pretty good read overall. MC is very clever and cunning, but he has this reckless tendency and doesn't treasure himself so he's very prone to hurting himself to almost dying. I guess it gets better when he's officially a couple with ML. Still, I feel how scared and anxious ML was to love someone like MC.

What's clever about this novel was the situation of MC transmigration to ML world and the rebirth of ML. I can't spoil too much. But it does makes the story complicated and engaging.

Their love... more>> story is somewhat convoluted. I actually have no patience with how back-and-forth their romance is, but I guess no story is perfect and their imperfection can also be its charm,

It's been a while I've been hooked onto a novel. Im ecstatic now that I've completed. However there is a subtle feeling of loss. It's just how I feel after every good novel I finish. The feeling of accomplishment as well as the pain of seeing such a beautiful world end. The MC how should I phrase it, his complex emotions were so on point. He wanted to dissociate from this world but couldn't. The way he couldn't see them just as mere characters but even more. Throughout the novel... more>> I've felt his suffering and personally the only real thing in this world for him in the beginning was the ml. A beautiful story worth appreciating

well I just realised the negative comments for this story and I honestly can understand where they come from. But in my point of view the MC isn't c*cky arrogant or a wishy washy character. Like even if we see realistically imagine getting reincarnated in a novel will one be able to adapt, to accept its the reality not a mere fiction.

there are many people who personally don't like him doing those dangerous stuff out there. See I agree the novel had many plotholes but from what I can understand all he needs to do is stick with the dialogues of the character rather than personifying himself perfectly as the character. The time when he went doing all those stuff was the time there was no scene of him in the original novel. Secondly he just had few months and he needed alone time. Humans have varied ways to cope up with emotions he who couldn't understand whether he wished to stay or wished to leave perhaps found the best method for him

and about the girl who liked it. Throughout the story to me she was very annoying like technically she was a part of the whole plan. She was very well aware throughout and wanted to act as a a savior but surprise. I don't think MC was particularly heartless not informing her that the drug that was injected was fake. Her sacrificing himself for him was her own choice. He has rejected her countless times it's just her stubborn nature who couldn't accept it.

I've lost count how many times I read this.

If you love miscommunication, nuances and slow burn this is it for you. I like how the author goes in depth regarding MC and ML backstories, even the side characters like Xiao Shenglin.

The description of how beautiful ML with how expressive he is makes it really easy to read. Their relationship is frustratingly good and addictive. You won't get dry don't worry. ML have enough vinegar and sweetness to cover for you.

Very many dog blood with only bits of dog food. But... more>> it's the slow burn that is worth it at the end.

My only qualm is that once that sweetness is reached, author still felt the need to put one last wrench to their happiness lol. Ngl eventho I've reread this like 4th, 5th time, I don't like how the start of ending went. Don't worry, they will still get their happy ending.

I won't talk too much about the plot, you can read it yourself. I am mostly here to get this off my chest because I have never loved a novel and yet hated it for its complexity at the same time. If you're the kind of person who gets really deep in the story and cries easily then maybe bring a tissue box. The beginning is somewhat lighthearted then starts the turmoil. Although many of the realisations you get in this novel are something a lot of the people here... more>> might've already gone through. But for those who haven't it's like someone suddenly stole your childhood and gave you a trailer of all the stuff about growing up. I hated that part because it reminded me of everything in MY life. And I was supposed to be here to escape reality, so yeah... mixed feelings. But I just loved everything. Everything.

The most important thing was that not a single character was annoying. Everything was logical. I liked the MC and ML and their friends. The most amazing thing here was that not a single character was s*upid. You might think they're s*upid at first but they're not. They're really not.

And yes as some other comments have said the ending was a bit abrupt, but not too much, it was okay. It wasnt really as bad as it sounds. It resolved everything. You had no doubts in the end. Every point was covered and it meshed well with the story so yeah it was fine. For even the points I didn't think about I got an answer to them.

This is easily the most well written novel I've read. The simple fact that people change is seen so easily along the lines that you can vividly understand the feelings of the characters and even the seemingly simple but complex emotional turmoil.

You can see the bittersweet feelings of our characters as they change slowly, how they feel at loss about it, and how they feel that they're never gonna be the same again. And it hits hard. It hits really hard. It gives you that feeling that your kids have grown up and you're happy but sad at the same time.

At one point, there is a scene where song xuanhe suddenly realised and confirmed his hunch that xiao yuanmu had changed (he'd gotten reborn) and he was at a loss on what to do. All of us knew that he was gonna be reborn, I mean just look at the title, but when I realised for sure that the previous one wasnt coming back, I teared up. Not the pretty kind, I had a full blown sobbing attack, and I cried for like atleast 5 minutes before I calmed down. Because just like our MC I missed him too. <<less

I think the first half when Song Xuanhe first transmigrated and was fighting against following the system's plot and was a bit afraid of the ML was a lot more interesting than the second half where it turns into a long distance relationship for some reason. The ending also felt a bit abrupt. Enjoyable, just not the best danmei I've read so far.

It was a good read, but...... no offense, it was just as bland as other stories involving rich characters.

Although I give it credit for at least naming a few projects that showed up for negotiations (because a lot of these kinds of stories skips over this due to lack of experiences/knowledge in this field) and that it isn't just mainly for association sake, it's still giving the vibe that rich people have a lot of spare time to screw around with. The only person who seems real here is the... more>> ML. In fact, he seems to be the only character who is consistent with the development of the story. So many side characters literally live up to their name as cannon fodders, and they simply exist to only keep the story going. As you read along, you'll notice that many other readers also question the validity of each character's occupation and role in the story too. I've yet to see any of them prove their worth as stated in the story, and their character is built to sound comical instead. The ML suffering physical stress due to his busy schedule and lack of sleep makes a lot of sense when he has to run a big business from the ground up and deal with all these people who wants to suddenly partnered up with him.

Yet, I pity the ML.

MC..... does not deserve to be the main character, have a harem, and he doesn't match ML.

Honestly, in my opinion, their feelings felt so forced, don't even mention their relationship. I can't tell from which point in the story did the ML begin to develop feelings for the MC. You could argue that it was when MC saw his weakness and that he was influenced because of past memories, but based on the amount of trauma he went through, you'd think he'd need more than the fact that MC was just a tsundere.

I get it, characters need flaws, but this MC's only flaw is his character! He is a Gary Stu! Bro can slap someone and somehow magically gain a new possible member to his harem (technically he only has ML and some other dude, but yall are lying if you act like there ain't more to many of his "friendships" just cuz the author said so). They are either his admirer or his enemy, no neutral character. All these "face slapping" sounds like, sorry to the author, someone never got to experience being the slapper so they created disadvantageous scenes to do it vicariously through their MC...

Anyway, this story is bland because it's barely funny, barely serious, barely romantic/fluffy, barely anything. Like it has a hint of everything but nothing stands out.

I suggest more "dog blood" the amplify it.

Still a decent read. Put it on pause, may come back to finish. <<less

I liked the description and I thought, hehe why not! Let us go for a angsty slow burn but bro, it literally Burned!

I have a BITTERSWEET FEELING ABOUT THIS NOVEL!

FIRST OF ALL I WILL DIVE INTO POSITIVE ASPECTS:-

1- Somehow I didn't find this novel much boring. It was an okay read like I was interested in knowing what's next ?

2- I like the other side charcters, they were funny and I liked their friendship, like they all have their own arcs and little stories. and out of all my favourite was Guan Zhi. That baby whenever appeared made my day! Such a cutie!

3- Author has done a great job in putting lot of elements in the story.

4- I liked how Song xuanhe's inner struggle was portrayed as to leave or not. I felt the dilemma.

5- I love xuanmu. Poor guy was hurting since forever.

6- I enjoyed first half of the story. Where they were trying to connect.

It was cute and funny. And I honestly thought it will become something very strong special kind of bond.

NEGATIVES FOR ME:-

1- I couldn't connect with mail lead'S love !??? Like what !?? It started as fake and it still looked Fake to me till the end. IT FELT FORCED!

First of all they have ZERO EFFING COMMUNICATION between them!

It wasn't ANGST AT ALL. It was more like a relationship " being forced on readers". Like yeah they are the main lead they should be together. Seriously !!?

Second, I SAW ZERO INITIATION FROM Xuanhe's side. When they were Fake dating he NEVER INTERACTED with Mumu. HEY, xuan baby SYSTEM NEVER SAID THAT YOU CAN'T EVEN TALK AS FRIENDS !?? and after mumu left it was WORST, IT FELT like he is gone for good. Like I have forgotten about him. THEY WERE LITERALLY APART FROM EACH OTHER TILL THE END. MUMU WAS LITERALLY ABSENT in the whole book! ONLY LAST 20ish chapter they were together but it felt RUSHED! IT WAS LIKE YEAH OBVIOUSLY MAIN LEADS MUST END UP TOGETHER (LIKE I SAID FORCING THEIR RELATIONSHIP DOWN OUR THROAT). YEAH HE PROTECTED XUANHE BUT IT DIDN'T APPEAL TO ME AS ROMANTICISM AS XUANHE'S REACTION DAMPENED EVERYTHING! BRO TALK, EFFING TALKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thirdly, it might look like sweet with them acting all long distance sweethearts but mumu was obsessed with his work and taking over xiao family, ofcourse he had to otherwise it would hurt xuan he, but Xuan could have put some efforts there. But xuanhe was OBSESSED WITH HIMSELF, HIMSELF AND HIMSELF! PERIOD!!! HE DID CARE FOR MUMU BUT NOT TO THE EXTENT WHERE HE WOULD PUT SOME EFFORTS INTO THEIR RELATIONSHIP BUT INSTEAD HE RAN AWAY, MF WAS SUICIDAL!!!! and his reason for going back surprised me. he had a difficult choice, but DIDN'T his mom say she will be HAPPY IF HE IS HAPPY AND they WILL PROTECT HIM UNTIL SOMEONE WHO LOVES HIM MORE THAN THEM will APPEAR. His struggle was absurd and it felt like author is lengthening the plot but it was so painstaking to read, as I felt he could have COMMUNICATED and travelled but didn't JEOPARDIZE other people and his own safety. At one point he did realise that everyone is real and it's not just a book but that realisation went down the drain. What the hell! HE WAS CHEERFUL AT FIRST BUT BY THE MIDDLE OF THE BOOK HE BECAME SO DEPRESSING TO READ. he was making sorry excuses for his struggles.

HONESTLY THEIR ROMANCE, EVEN IT WAS A SLOW BURN, IT WAS BLEHHH! IF ONLY THEY HAVE SOME CHEMISTRY....

THIS NOVEL HAD THE POTENTIAL, IT COULD HAVE BECOME MORE INTERESTING BUT ALAS!!! FOR ME, UNFORTUNATELY IT COULDN'T BECOME AN ALL TIME READ!

MIND YOU I HAVE BINGED READ IT BUT WHEN I REACHED 80 SOME CHAPTERS IT BECAME SO IRRITATING TO READ. EVEN LANA DEL RAY SONG COULDN'T SAVE THAT.

And trust me it's not about I want to read fluff or something. I am greatly disappointed because of mumu (he left and even if he was there) he was literally absent, no communication, no love, nothing. The first half of the story even though mumu was absent, it still felt the room for character development and their relationship development but after that I don't know It was mentioned that no one understands xuanhe or mumu and I totally agreee, I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND THEM AT ALL!!! <<less

Slow burn, which I generally like, but this one was a bit too long since plot wise there was not much. I only continued because of the MC. The ML was too bland in my opinion... like the generic cold, handsome taciturn type CEO.

I agree with people saying that it wasn't the one I was expecting, and as you know unrealistic expectations will ruin your life experience, so I was dissatisfied but i'll continue to follow this author, in my opinion this person has so much potential for writing and i'll be waiting for it's growth!!!!!!!

I liked it and the way the story transition.

The ending could've done a lot better in my opinion.

However, I felt that MC's personality changed half way through the novel. Don't know if that's a good thing or bad thing but he adapts well.

There are side couples, nice.
