It's 'aight. A little dull, though. To be honest, I read it over the course of three weeks because it was my breaktime fodder. I don't read really interesting stories at work because I'll accidentally get invested and overstay on my breaks, but let's just say I didn't have a problem very often with this story.

I think the only time I overstayed was the scene with the drug injection so far, because something was finally happening. It was a confrontation with the threat of serious danger, or so we thought. The MC is such a harda$$ about keeping his secrets and not getting close to anyone, even the readers aren't allowed to know what his plans are, apparently.

Basically, he's kind of undeserving of the love he's received, as he doesn't recognize it at all and doesn't realize the harm his future plans cause them.

I suppose, in the end, it's not a bad story. It certainly makes one think. I just am not a fan of emotionally stunted MCs who use their ignorance as a reason to harm others.

The Slowest Burn I have ever gone through in Romance Novel !!!

The first time I have ever read where the Couple act Cold toward each other but inside they're growing their Feelings, Affection, Love, Care and all. While looking like they're Cold/Distance Couple, but like most Outsiders' pov said, they're also gave off a 'Loving' atmosphere.

While they're cold toward each other, they're never use or think of using violence. Except when the MC had to do his scenarios to 'be mean', no one actually being genuinely mean toward each other.

All... more>> Side Characters are Great except of course the Bad or the Ars/Btch.

Most great moments were satisfying when the MC and ML looking down toward the Bad people they slowly step and destroy with their words or something.

Seriously, it's really really Great novel so far!

I only Dare to gave it 4 starts because the Translation is not complete yet. And I definitely don't want to MTL!

Seriously One of the Greatest Transmigration novel!

The author really dare to give us the Most Emotional scenes at the end. Like... Seriously? ಥ_ಥ Thank god it's HE, but come on, man?!

Big Thank Goodness for the Extras!!! Completing the story Perfectly!

It's definitely One of the Best novel with Best Relationship between MC and his System! The System itself is one of THE BEST SYSTEM EVER!!!

It's Absolutely Definitely Worth your time and Love!!! Read it!!!

Well, this story hooked me from the very first chapter. I lost alot of sleep trying to finish reading this story in 3 days. It is a 3.5 for me. The beginning started off really really strong and good. I was captivated. The story telling was great and there were many interactions between the MC and ML. But towards the middle, after the ML left to go build his company, I felt the relationship took a nosedive. Especially the MC's character. He seemed matured and realized his feelings, but he... more>> still ended up doing s*upid crazy sh*t so that it would cover up his guilt for wanting to return. Which I didn't fully understand why he would want to return when he was super scared of ending up alone anyways. Urg, author failed on this part. I also felt MC had a better relationship with side characters starting middle of novel too. There was not as much fluff as I wanted, and there were so much petty face slapping. A few is fine but they were happening every freakin chapter. Then ML never wanted to communicate his problems with MC either. This didn't read as a power couple to me at all.

I don't regret reading this book. I'm glad I did because I haven't had a book made me feel suspense like this in a long time. And I love the cold jealous ML type. But middle to end of book really was a let down. Ending was okay. <<less

I have many many words tô why this novel is amazing even with it's own flaws, but I belive that no matter what, liking or disliking this novel, everyone that readed until the Very last chapter, can affirm it's wonderful engaged expressioned emotions in the even slightly actions of the characters. A raw structure narrative novel, yet full of rich emotions. I rlly loved It.

The translation is excellent, and the updates are very frequent, I didn't expect however that I still wouldn't be able to hold out and ended up MTL'ing all the way to the end lmao, even though it wasn't nearly as enjoyable as a good, proper translation, I still had a lot of fun reading this novel, I specially liked the ML, Xiao Yuanmu, which is rare since I'm not normally too into the stoic, Mr. Perfect type of ML, but him I found particularly likeable, the dynamic of the MCs... more>> relationship is also very interesting and although the slowburn is tortuous, the developments are very rewarding, the only thing that I'm kind of unsatisfied with at the end of it all would be the amount of plotholes left unfilled, I will proceed to list the most prominent ones, or at least the ones I remember:

1- The person that was in the picture that that businessman (don't remember his name, it was Sun-something) offered SXH to trade XYM for, it was never said who they were and if it was, I must have missed it, they also didn't say what scared that businessman into retracting his offer later, although I suspect it must have been XYM's doing

2- The inversion that SYH made into robotics or something, don't quite remember what it was, during that party in which XYM almost drowned, which was said to be in some remote area, it was never brought up again

3- The destiny of Song guchao was left pending after the main plot, I can't exactly call this a plot hole, but after how important his character was to the early plot and how much hate the author made us accumulate for him, I would have hoped we could get to see heavier retribution, at least chasing him out of the Song family

4- What happened to the original host, why did the system need the other world's SXH to fill his place, did the og host really like Xiao Shuanglin? Although these also aren't to the point of being plotholes, I would have still liked some more clarification, although I think it was implied that SXH's role in that world was to aid in finishing the story that the og author had left unconclusive, that's why he had so much freedom to do as he wanted, but I'm unsure

And that's about it, other than these, I was mostly satisfied with the other aspects of the story, jugding by the author's notes, the ending was on the side of rushed, so that must have been why some things were left unresolved, still I would heavily recommend this novel if you like the "transmigrator meets reborn MC" trope and enjoy rich family dramas as well as a good dose of fluff with a dash of angst from the main couple. <<less

Omg I love this so much and Im so sad its over ughh. This is such a great book and I cannot express how wonderful this is. Definitely read it, you wont regret it. Everything about the book is so perfect and like theres nothing more to say. I usually wait for translations to come out but I just could wait for this book and MTLed it. It was pretty easy to understand. Anyways, the only thing I dont like about this book is that there isnt more >.<

5/5 Binge read in MTL the whole thing.

If your into stoic / cold-hearted / blackened protagonist ML × the MC that showed him love, you wont regret reading this.

There will be a bit of frustrations & also comedy from their misunderstandings, then after that just their ver of cute warm dog-food, then a little tension & stress near the end that made me cry, over all its a good read, dont remember if there are plot holes, just read the description & the tags ^^

Good read. Reminds me mostly of "The s*um Villain’s Self-Saving System" and a tad of "Reborn as My Love Rival’s Wife." If you enjoyed any of these two, you would like this as well.

The story is really good... Ain't gonna say more just give it a try you won't regret... At first I thought it would be some cheesy cliche stuff but it gave me a very pleasant surprise... Though some scenes are unnecessary I fully support MC and ML's charecter. Cause frankly if I was in their place I would do the same. Don't know from where some people found so many flaws (which isn't even in the story) but whatever its a really good read

Not gonna lie it's a pretty good story, but... Of course there's a but!

The author is kind of putting in too much info even though they can ommit it out of the story. I feel like this story could've ended in just 80 chapters, but the author keeps on adding info, and drags it onnn.

It's a good read just that I don't have the patience to read through all the unnecessary parts, maybe to you they're interesting, I just don't feel like they further the main plot that much?

Also if... more>> you've read up to chapter 50-60 you can actually start skimming through the story. Make sure you just find any line that mentions the ML and MC name, and you'll still be able to make sense of what the hell is going on! <<less

The romance is slow and bitter and sweet. It makes you smiled and squealed, then break your heart in the next second.

As someone who usually avoid tragedy tag, this was difficult for me to read because the ups and downs are too much for my fragile heart.

The author is good at bringing out the emotions. The translation is also especially excellent.

... more>> Both the MC and ML are smart and on equal footing.

Although the ml, Mr. Xiao "I had seven boyfriends" Yuanmu, is definitely the more experienced party in this relationship and is constantly drowning in an ocean of vinegar. He acted aloof and cold, but is possessive and EASILY jealous even when he hadn't want to admit and confirm he was in love with Song Xuanhe.

Our MC, Song "I throw away the dish to hide the evidence because I don't know how to clean dishes" Xuanhe, is intelligent and cunning but also awkward and clumsy at the same time. His past is a mystery and is slowly being reveal throughout the story.

Zhuo "Nobleman and best wingman" Nan, is the number one shipper and is hilarious.

Xiao "Best boi (and concubine) ", Shenglin, is probably the only straight guy in the group, but we'll see... Zhuo Nan is still single...

Wei "currently amusing himself watching the dramas" Chen, is a former member of ml's harem but is suspect to be tempting MC to two times ML in this timeline, according to one Nobleman Nan.

Guan "adorable tsundere shota" Zhi, is also a former member of ml's harem but is also currently being coveted into MC's harem. Bonus: he's a really cute tsun tsun.

Warning: There is angst. It will break your heart but you will still want more. <<less

There’s a little too much face slapping occurring to the point it does become repetitive, but the romance is why we are reading this story, and slow burn romances are great. The MC is also refreshing. Side characters exist. No insta love.

I had the most fun at the beginning when MC and ML were still picking apart each other's behavior and trying to determine each other's thoughts. I rate that part 5/5 because the tension between two people circling around and carefully observing the other was grappling. When they separated, MC had to continue on until the book's final plot point and until the day he could leave. Unfortunately, it seemed as if the author lost direction of the novel from this point forward because the plot fell a bit flat... more>> in comparison to earlier chapters. I'm usually okay with slow burn if the plot picks up the slack, but I struggled a bit in this case. The ending was a bit of a cop-out, like a few others have mentioned. Even though the extras explained it, I was still completely befuddled - it really threw me in for a loop. However, I just accepted it simply because I really do like MC and ML's relationship. Song Xuanhe and Xiao Yanmu took a small piece of my heart. <<less

It was okay. I don't have a big impression of it. Actually, as I am writing this I realize there was a lot of plot holes, or things that just don't make sense given the information the reader has received.

I feel like a lot of the time the characters don't stay true to their character settings. Even our main character seems flat. It is one thing to be emotional and unpredictable, and another to be cold and stoic. It is hard to switch between them, without going out of character.... more>> The transition between being rivals and later lovers was very sudden. Although it was slowburn, I don't think their relationship progressed very much. Suddenly they like each other other and everything is sunshine and rainbows.

But some things made up for it. Like Zhou Nan calling out my exact thoughts when I think the situation is ridiculous. Best supporting character lollllll. <<less

So there's a lot to say and I probably won't remember everything I thought about while reading this but I'll try

Like in a lot of my other reviews, this was entertaining and I read it completely almost nonstop, but in the end when I think about it, it wasn't that good.

Like I've seen in some other reviews, there were some inconstancies in how the characters behaved, especially the MC. I don't know how to explain this but his actions made it seem like he was more attached to that... more>> world and then a few chapters later he'd act coldly again without any indication of his thought process.

A lot of scenes were added to add content to the story but they took so long to appear, which could be fine, but to me it seemed like the author forgot about it and added it last minute to not create a plot hole.

I know this is written from the MC's perspective but so many things happened to the ML where he left for days or hours and before that, it had been treated as if a major issue was about to happen but they never go into much depth on what actually happened while the ML was gone, or when they do you never know if they're lying or actually telling the truth.

So many added plots that seemed useless, the last few chapters and the time where he went to a war torn country for a really s*upid reason (many people might have explanations for this whole part but it just doesn't make sense to me).

Side characters are something I really enjoy, and this story has them but they appear all the time sometimes and then disappear until near the end of the story

Another thing that is extremely common in novels but that I'll still mention is how characters seem to fall in love for no apparent reason and with little interaction, or they become interested in another person or want to befriend that person when they have been nothing but rude to them (which I found the MC to be a lot of the time)

The translation was really good though and the story itself was entertaining but you shouldn't think too deeply about it.

My 3 stars are based on my satisfaction after finishing the story <<less

Unfortunately I found the MCs characterization to be inconsistent and the system/book plot device to be more annoying/confusing than necessary.

Very little about the system, the main system, the unfinished novel, the male lead's rebirth, and general consequences of the MCs OOC actions are given much attention. At most they are used as plot devices. Anytime the MC is about to make a discovery or the system is going to communicate info that could lead to a discovery, they are interrupted and we continue as if the conversation didn't happen. There's... more>> also numerous moments when a perfunctory response is given and the seemingly intelligent MC just goes "ok ".

it's not until the end when the author decides to randomly have the ML face death due to his rebirths that everything is put on the table. This was such an annoying choice. There was no purpose. The MC was already staying in the world and the system was going to leave anyway... but all of a sudden the system became a cat the MC new as a toddler and this sacrificed for him for love. Cute. But why? The sudden affection from the system was just that. Sudden. Why not write that affection throughout the story. Certainly that would have been more interesting to read than the constant appearance of Cannon fodder antagonists doing the same thing over and over again.

MC makes dumb decisions and is a huge fan of 'letting things happen'. Yes, the System is very restricting but doesn't actually punish him for being OOC, or restrict him from acting outside of important plot points. He's also very inconsistent, one minute wanting to stay out of the drama and then the next, attending a movie premiere when it wasn't required of him (and predictably waltzed right into the villain's trap).

I'm a huge fan of SVSSS and ORV, so this kind of MC just frustrates me to no end.... more>> This MC IS capable of scheming and does succeed in a few of them, but then he just goes back to being a passive spoiled brat (when the system DOESN'T require him to act out a scene) who can't even get rid of the pests around him properly. In fact, I really don't see the point of this MC being a transmigrator from another world when the original host could've been reborn and seen the error of his ways and truly fall for the ML this time. Would have been much more entertaining.

ML is boring. Could be a cardboad cutout for how much personality he has. <<less

Just your average romantic book that has transmigration. The couple had some very sweet moments, but their romance felt dragged out in the later parts of the book. The book would have benefitted if their pasts and internal turmoil had been fleshed out more, so that we could gain a better understanding of their actions.

The ending also felt abrupt. They had only been truly together (no forced relationship, "break up", or denied feelings) for around 10 chapters. I hope we could've gotten more extras about their... more>> daily lives and how their future turned out. <<less

i honestly thought it was pretty decent at the beginning. I loved MC’s personality and how he had like an actual life.

BUT!

Unfortunately IMO the author dragged out the relationship too much and the Family Drama was soooo headache inducing that I had to skim some chapters. Its really unfortunate since I really did love the CP but I wish it wasn’t dragged out for so long.

Im giving this extra points though because of the ending
